For some reason, I like classic design of Sennheiser (HD600- HD650- HD660s - HD58x) headphones over HD700.
no body is going to use this for ther phone.

i used to own them. to summarize the sound: bass is nicely detailed, not too heavy not too light. mids are quite nice and detailed as well, a little more recessed than the 600 and 650. treble is super detailed and borderline sibilant. the soundstage is crazy wide though.
no brainer for 329€ (~350 dollars)?
Coming from an ath m50, I was very impressed with this detail, soundstage and the warmth of the vocals I got from this. I even got it barely used for 300 bucks. The treble spike at around 12-16khz doesn't bother me tbh
Does these headsets offer 7.1 surround sound and what about a mic. Sorry, the PC I am on at work I can't listen to the video.
I love the original HE400 sound with its planar magnetic drivers. Found a local deal on some new 700s for only 200 some I'm jumping on it!
Love the review, as always! Quick question though, can you utilise a 3.5mm jack and combine these with mobile phones? Will they get enough power to run the drivers well? I wish to use them at home with my audio system but on occasion casually with my mobile without an amp.

I bought both the sennheiser HD 800s and HD 700. Loved the 800s but for the money kept the HD 700 (used for $375) and sent back the 800s (Amazon $1700). Just couldn't justify price difference. They definitely sound different from each other. Kinda like a exceptional wine vs a really good wine. Cheap Schitt stack powered both easily.

These are going quite cheap at the moment, I wonder if they’d be a good duo to my Denon D7000s which are definitely toward the bassier, warmer side.

You nailed it. I just bought these and I just couldn't listen for a long time. I got ear fatigue. They are too bright on the highs and very little bass and you are right, they are not very fun to listen to. These are not for me and will be going back. Good video.

My problem with needing to amp a specific way or EQ out-of-the-box is that I feel it detracts from the fact that these are professional headphones I mix and master music for a living, and I got a great deal on these a couple years for like $150 from a pawnshop surprisingly. There are certainly lively and full/wide, but they are far, far too harsh for what I would consider "mastering" headphones as they refer to them. I have dedicated headphone amps and DACs for days, but I can't help but feel that for the price they gave enough attention for well-rounded genres pumping through these things idk. I know a lot of this is objective, but when I reference these vs Sennheiser HD650/HD6XX, or the AKG k702s, is just a really uncomfortable Spike around 4-6k that makes consonants unbearable to me. Even in the sweetest mixes I've heard that I reference every week, these don't seem to do them justice.

Will these work correctly with the creative g6 ?
so i have owned these in the past and they are indeed very good for gaming. the soundstage is huge and they image very well (the two most important things for a gaming headphone imo) i sold them because i was looking for a headphone for just music. i struggled with that 6k peak. its just borderline ear piercing. i have eventually settled on both the ZMF Aeolus and the Audeze LCD-2C for my needs because the HD700 actually made me realize that i just love a warmer, smoother sound. but even still, i do recommend this to people if the want a premium gaming headphone. i think its great for that and i bet the only thing better is the HD800.
I own The HD 800 and let me tell u something. There are NO freaking headphone that manages The same soundstage and detail. Only downside is that u need to have The right amp. Stay Away from bright amps they dont go well with hd800
i turn off all 7.1 stuff on my gaming headphones. it really sounds crappy. stereo is the best way to go. most games have surround built in so thats all you need
