Can you use these a headset on a computer?

While they say that they're "noise canceling" I think it be better to term them as "noise dampening"; while background noise is significantly suppressed, you are not completely cut off from the world allowing me to hear & respond to my friend and otherwise keep track of everything that is going on around me. Completely out-of-the-box satisfied*
does it hurt your head if you have them for hours and how is the mic?

this headphone is one of the worst I have ever got . I used to be really fan of Sennheiser, but I am really disappointed. This head phone has no absolutly no dynamism at all . just like cheap chinesse made!

yeah it's ok, but we pay AU$127 in Australia and that's on sale. Feels to me like the HD471i - is a product that welcomes you to the brand but reminds you very clearly that you are at the low end of the food chain, therefore do not complain and instead be ready to pay about AU$400 for the next level.I am sure there must be much, much , much better value elsewhere (for the money)

I've owned the hd461i, those sounded decent as well. Only problem was that it gets distorted pretty fast with some volume.
Thing with most Sennheisers is that most are plasticky and cheap feeling
Did you try a little EQ to adjust for your preference ? Does it handle the bass being boosted ?
Sennheiser do a great job with their low cost headphones. I have a pair of the hd518 and have been using them for around 3 years and they are still going strong

Great review, very concise in a short period of time. However, saying "moving on" frequently is a bit much and gets repetitive. Viewers are intelligent enough to follow the nice pace and flow of the visuals of your presentation without the use of a vocal prompt. Thanks!

Sennheiser tends to make a lot of their headphones out of plastic for the light weight, but usually the plastic is pretty high quality. The piece that adjust the ear ups are usually made from plastic and gets scratched but lasts a long time. I have a sennheiser HD 439 which is mostly plastic and I adjust it very often and the plastic frame is scratched but the plastic hasn’t worn down after adjusting it 5 times a day for 5 years.

I think you tried to remain polite . cause this headphone is just crap .It has absolutly no dynamism . my very old HD205 is so much better!

i have the hd439, these look pretty similar so these are the replacement i guess. the hd439 might feel cheaply build but i use mine daily for about 4 years and they still look new, the cable is very durable, i pulled hard on them many times and not a sign of them wearing. i assume these are build as good.

Come back to the price range we're talking for the HD471 and ask yourself which of these you'd rather own : / Same price, sane all-plastic construction but one has been built (and checked) by people who clearly gave a shit. I just got my pair for christmas and they´re feeling ok. I´m coming from using my old Bose headset and off course the difference is substantial, but considering the price as you mentioned I think they are perfectly good-sounding headphones. The feeling is not as premium due to the overly-used plastic construct but because of its lightness they are pretty comfortable to use during long workings shifts or gaming sessions. The only detail that is also worth to mention is that the cable is almost impossible to remove ! Almost broke mine the first time I attempt it.
*I bought these for $89 at JB I find the highest volume level setting very low*

Yep got it today from JBH and agree with your review. All of the major brands want us to believe that $100 buys the very crappy low end of their products. Sound is ok-ish but the finishing and quality is dodgy. MOST IMPORTANTLY - The headphones will fall apart in 12 months time therefore do not complain, do not return them!. just buy another pair but try to spend $300/400.right? anyway, lets see how long the Sennheiser HD471i will last
! had a typo on screen. During the ANC test from the 6min. 52sec. mark to 7min. 2sec mark, those were actually the Bose 700 ANC headphones I used for comparison. It says "raw" on screen which isn't accurate. Either or, the performance on these are very impressive for how much cheaper they were to Bose. (not saying they were equal. More details in the review) Wanting to make sure you get the test results! Aside from that, man, tons of love on this video, thank you very much. Is there a way to turn off the feedback when I am using the mic? I find it annoying that I can't use the mic and listen to a video at the same time.
I choosed these headphones over sonys xb900n , Im not super impressed , Im using sennheiser HD600 every day which are open, 450BT are close ones and sound is as "airy" as I whish it to be
Guys, I need help. To whomever has these headphones, please help me. I've been using SENNHEISER HD 58X's for the past 3 years. The headphones have been battered and through a lot of unnessesary crap in life, but they still work as brand new. Not a damn thing is wrong with them, but I'm still looking to purchase new headphones. I'm not a big guy in this industry, so I ask you, if I should purchase these or not. Is it worth going from HD 58x to these? And if it's not worth it, please tell me a headphone name that is worth it! Thanks

Shall I go for these or crushers ANC ? My preference is sound quality
I've had their younger sister, the HD4.50 BTNC for about two years, and I'm disappointed. Some sounds are just missing (makes me mad, as i listen mostly to old music), too heavy on the bass IMO, and the deal breaker for me (that makes me replace them) is the earcups which suck! they sit tight but twist my ears in a way that gives me migraines and i'm not joking. two hours with them on and I need to remove them with caution or else my ears will explode from pain! BUT! my brother will receive them as I get myself a new pair of over ear headphones, since he doesn't experience any problems with them whatsoever! so buyers beware, try to check them physically on your head before you make that purchase!
Are the 450BT better than the 4.5BT? I really wish they would do a better job at naming them.
