You say it blocks outside noise really well, good enough to wear on a plane to block out noise or would I need to buy the specific cancellation noise headphones?

Full range at start sounded good and then bass demo. But Demo went straight from low mids to high (missed high mids). Then something wrong after 7.40. It’s not full range like the video says. Even the speaking sounds muddy.

Is there 2 different types of 280 pros? Because the pair i have two pads on the inside head band section.
Are they good for Gaming like 7.1 suround? Foot steps -> left-back or right-back, up and down. Or only for Movie and Music?
I own these and not seeing the positives. Very uncomfortable to wear. I feel im the only one saying this.

Fed up of all these headphone flat response claims, they're not a flat response at all. No headphone on the market has a flat response! The only benefit of a closed back design is for recording purposes, no bleed when recording guitar or vocals. Using these for mixing or mastering would be absolutely fucking shit, if you really do have to use headphones for mixing or mastering (which isn't really advised) then an open back is the only way to go, something like a Sennheiser HD580 would work.

Does anybody have an idea if they sound similar to a pc350 headset ? I own a pc350 right now and love the sound and I was wondering if those could be a good replacement when the inevitable day comes.

I've had mine since 2004 and still use it daily. Tried 'upgrading' a few times to other headphones and using those for a few months, but then I compare them to the HD280 again I switch back to the HD280s.
I bought the Sennheiser HD280pro back in 2014 and have been using it ever since. They've been the best headphones I've used in my entire life and I don't plan on switching.
I've been using the same old model on my PC for about 14 or 15 years. Are you saying I should get the new ones? I might be due. I was just about to replace the ear pads for the 2nd time. Last time I found some leather ones that felt nice and didn't shred like the OEMs. I think the old ones were about $200 when I got them.

Please help; What do you think I should choose between Meze 99's, beyerdynamic 770's, sennheiser 280 pros, akg 361 or Sivga 006 ? Feel free to recommend any other pair I need closed back headphones mainly for playing with a digital piano (Korg sv2 to be precise). I'm wondering if the Sennheisers and beyerdynamic might be "too flat" for my liking and meybe the Meze are more enjoyable than the akg 361 and sivga 006 I've heard great things about. What i think I need is good imaging and sound stage. I don't want any smudging of the sounds so high detail tho I want the headphones to have a pleasant sound so I can play for long is that contradicting? Idk.

I am searching for mixing headphones for a long time especially cuz my speakers and the headphones I use for musiv listening have more bass and everytime I try my song somewhere else I can't hear the bass barely. And it took a while cuz I am pretty new to music production and mixing so it's kinda scary to search for a headphones which ya can be sure the mixing would be better. And I already saw this one on number 1 on a mixing headphones list so I already was looking to maybe buy it but after this review I am pretty sure that these will work good. Took the plunge & bought these online today— gotta wait at least a week before it gets to me. This is the journey into finding high quality headphones; trying to become an audiophile though I’m a dilettante right now. I always used Beats so this journey into the world of audiophiles should be fun. Thanks for the review. Update: Just got them in today. They sound good— comparable to my Beat’s Studio 3’s (Skyline Edition), there’s almost no difference in sound that I can tell so far. It seems Beats upgraded their speaker quality compared to older editions. For people on a budget who don’t want to spend $200+ on Beats— these Sennheiser’s for sure are pretty almost the same (in sound quality) but aren’t as aesthetically pleasing to look at. Plus you don’t have to charge the Sennheiser’s like the Beats which is good. Overall, I’d recommend them. Mind you I haven’t tried many other brands of headphones, so I’m sure there’s others that would blow these two away when it comes to quality sound.

Hi Pete, two quick question your answer will mean a lot to me. Did you find a difference in sound signature between your old HD280 and new HD 280? Did you find a difference in sound after replacing the earpads with the new kit on your old can?

This is one thing I still don’t have, however I do have some regular closed back sennheiser noise cancelling headphones which I think do a decent job. I don’t seem to get any noticeable bleed thru on vocals and I don’t think they augment the bass like a pair of Beats. I should still get some official studio phones some day tho! I think I wud like the spiral chord too. Mine have what seems like a 20 foot straight chord which I have tripped on several times.
