Awesome video, thanks for sharing! I have a question for you though if you can help me out. Do you run the Sennheiser e825 S through and XLR cable into some sort of PA system or recording unit? My brother let me borrow this microphone but he gave me a cable that has a female XLR output and on the other side has a TRS 1/4" input, can I just plug that into an amplifier? Will that work or will it ruin the microphone? Thanks a lot! Hope you can help me out.

I own both , shure sm58 and e835 , I like the e835 way more then my sm58’s for live stage sound as well as podcast recording . Make sure to use a pop filter for podcast and lecture recording.All the singers in my band also like the e835s more then the sm58. Thanks for the review . Cheers .

Well ok if ya just going to run your mouth but not works a crap singing for a deep voiced person,wife loves it I hate the hig sound,is a powerful mic,but like I say,not for a deep voiced person,ok for a talk show sing song,lol.

Hey @Podcastage is that keyboard the same mechanical you use in your other videos...like on the D5.... if so, this is the best rejection ! you can barely hear the keys!!!

I purchased one E835S today with XLR to 3.5MM cable but when connected to the speaker or SONY audio in there is no sound at all. Any interface required?
Definitely a good mic even just for recording for podcasts. I know it’s main purpose is for live performances and being able to block out the vocals going on but this is a solid mic. I find myself liking it better than many condensers especially since those pick up these wet mouth sounds I make

Why don't you compare it to the other mics in the similar price bracket?
Bought from official distributor. In 2020 they went cheap, package is different and mic do not have "Made in Germany" on the mic's body. I thought that it is countrafeight. But seems to be not - as well as on official website its different labeling now. This is sad.
Sucks for plosives. Yikes. Your videos have come a LONG way bandrew.
Although I've used better...I like these as an all around dynamic vocal mic. good pricing too. if you were trying to be a touring musician I'd spend more money...but this is an improvement from the SM58.

Yeah i got your point , what attracts me to listen to your review because my friends are looking for a mic @$100 price bracket and they saw your review of Sennheiser E 835. I think its better if you review Shure SM7B or Rode Procaster, those are podcasters type of microphones. If you're going to review the kinds of E835 or Shure's SM58 those wont pass your standards. And some people who don't know anything about microphones and Podcasting will be confuse and might believe in whatever you say and will stay away from Sennheiser E 835 or what ever you reviewed in your channel that you don't like, they have no idea that you are a podcaster, they might think you're a singer also because you sang a little and actually you're good..Don't get me wrong bro, just saying.

Never liked this microphone, the dynamic profile enhanced midrange tones and makes everyone sound like they are speaking from the back of their throats. The SM58 dumps all over it.
Sure SM7B handles plosives perfectly! Out of the box.
Oh come on i think for 100 its fine. What do you expect to be for 100. Neuman will cost thousands and for average listener wont hear a difference. You got to the audiophile for hear difference.
This microphone is clearly meant A. for live uses, and/or B. low voices. Not meant for higher voices in the studio (like yours). My voice, however, perfect.
Most people would use a e935 or e945 for podcasting. This one is a singers mic. Sounded like you had a stroke in the last 1/3 of your video.
I agree with this review. I just watched Podcastage's review of a $25 Behringer handheld stage mic and I liked it better than this. The only way this is worth $100 is if you NEED your mic to have a prestigious high end name brand and don't really care about how it sounds. Then again I'm not a musician which I suppose is the main market for this thing?
