So if livestream ing and using a mic like this and headphones does the sound go in the headphones doesn’t that mean that any backing track will be heard in the headphones but not from the mic when talking in to it therefore getting singing in livestream but not backing ?

What, it didn’t occur to you guys to label which mic was in use, so the viewer would know what was going on?
Need to test low voices - bass and baritone - as no one wants to have carry mics for females and mics for males. I don't think you should use a sound shield and, ideally, you'd do the test with a backing track if not a backing band to get more close to a gig environment. As shown on the video these weren't tests at all. Sorry (big fan of Anderton's).
They are super cardiod not hyper cardiod... urgh...
I couldn't tell which one sounded better because I wasn't singing through it.
Without wedges and drums blasting away, this tells us only part of the story - on this test I preferred the 58, which I hate using live owing to all the rubbish it picks up.

Just to clarify, 1st was Shure SM58, second was Sennheiser 845, 3rd was Sontronics Solo.

I just got a a Sontronics Solo while I went out to buy an iRig Duo. We compared it with SM58 too but with Nylon Guitar, Solo was way better handling anything out of guitar than SM58.

Would be interesting to hear the Shure Beta SM58A vs the Sontronics Solo. Might be a little more comparable if you prefer something a bit more open?
Just wanted to say thanks for this video as it helped me decided on my next new microphone. I was looking to upgrade from my 10 quid pyle pdmic 78 microphone to something a bit better. I watched this and thought wow that Sontronics solo does sound amazing so I now own one and use it on my channel.
