sir mene aaj hi amazon se ye hard drive receive ki hai. mera motherboard "Intel DX79TO 2nd Gen" hai 3.0 usb mein ye show nahi ho rahi, but led light show ho rahi hai 2.0 usb works fine. But mera ek or pc hai usme ye thik work kar rahi hai 3.0 mein bhi. Mene driver bhi update karke dekh lie but shoe nahi ho rahi. or same port mein pendrive or other hdd 3.0 mein thik work kar rahi hai kya issue ho sakta hai pls help

My Seagate STHP4000400 does not work now. I just bought it last May 2020. :( Will the warranty replace the item? and i should give them back the faulty one? I'm afraid my files saved in the HDD would be compromised :( what to do? I think it is corrupted. Already tried salvaging it thru YT instructional videos to no avail. I think it is something to do with its hardware. 1. It cannot be detected by 'My Computer' 2. It cannot be detected by Disk Management 3. It can be detected by Device Manager 4. When you connect it, it still spins (I feel it thru vibration on the device) 5. The light does not turn on and does not blink as well :( 6. When you click 'Populate' in the Device Manager Volum tab, it cannot detect its volume. 7. Is this a goodbye to my newly purchase 4TB HDD? :( What I did with it that resulted to its potential corruption: 1. I plugged it to my laptop to back up 100GB of movies 2. It somehow disconnected midway 3. I removed it when it hanged 4. I reconnected it and it says it needs SCAN AND REPAIR 5. It says it cannot repair the device so I removed it again and reconneted it 6. And it just dies right there and then! :(

i bought 5 of these about 1.5 years ago. they all randomly clicked right out of the box, not a good click btw, but i carried on using them like an idiot, well i think maybe i exchanged 2 of them right away and the new ones clicked also. one drive kept acting up on a xbox one, so i moved it to a pc and had issues with it there as well and i replaced in april of this year. 5 days ago i copied data from my laptop's drive into this replacement drive, copying over maybe 230GB of data over, the next day the drive was bad. i tried it on too many computers to count, tried different cables, i even opened up the enclosure and swapped its usb to sata interface pcb with another i had laying around still dead, and later connected it to a desktop straight to a sata data and power adapter and it was still dead. I work in IT, i work with drives all the time, i am disgusted and thinking i need to either get back to using internal sata based storage solutions or get away from this brand. im so pissed, i am not even sure what all i lost but most of all i lost confidence that all these damn drives are going to fail. as i said i have 5 4TB and countless other 1 and 2 TB drives all over the place. what a joke. how can i have so many problems?

Great video - thank you - I have a question - I have a Seagate external unit programmed for an automatic nightly back up. Mid-day, not during a back up session, I needed to retrieve a file from the Seagate unit & I successfully did so but forgot to close out of the session. Will the automatic programmed nightly back up still occur or does the Seagate need to be in an idle state ?

Hi. I’m having issues with my seagate backup plus i recently bought for my macbook air 2019. I can’t find it either on my finder or disk utility. The LED is lit though and the usb hub works fine for other devices. How did you get around this?

Getting 3.6 TB from a 4TB HDD is a terrible waste of 400GB space just for the file system's formatting info, so... (1). What file-system does this HDD use, and can it be formatted to some other MORE EFFICIENT file-system that gives more actual storage space? (2). Can this be hooked up to my networked AVR & Smart TV in the drawing room and STILL be accessible (read/write) from the networked PC in my bedroom (e.g. I just downloaded a file to my PC and I want to transfer it to this HDD so that the file can be read by my TV/AVR)?

Quick Question: Does anyone know why the write speed during actual use (copying a bunch of files over to another folder on the same drive) only gives me 30-35MB/s? Could it be that the drive is slower because it needs to read and write at the same time?
Those Seagate drives are awesome for the price. Have one and use it to edit and to store photos, they’re durable and a great value.
