whats funny is I curently have that Fooker set in my amazon shoping cart lol. I dont do trail riding or mountain biking, More of a city rider. a big part of the reason they are in my cart is they are a rather pleasant shade of blue.
I bought the fooker because the blue matches my decals better
I would buy the Fookers if they were a lot cheaper - hell I can't even afford a used bike why would I pay for the namebrand.

Meh, it’s a knock-off product. Like the cheap Frosted Flakes knock-offs called Frosty Shapes or whatever. You don’t buy them thinking they’re the real, brand-name product, you buy them because they’re cheap and “they’ll do”. I think they’re for different people IMO

Got junky pedals for my GF first bike. When we upgraded her bike I got the Chesters. The cost is minimal in the big scheme of things. If you can, support the companies you want to be around in 10 to 30 years so you can benefit from their products. 👍
i bought some expansive ($60) pedals with those screws in it and i almost fall everytime i stop, my foot being stuck in it. i just ordered some sandpaper covered pedals. $30, cheap one are 2 to 5.
I have ridden the chester/fookers and I agree that for larger feet the fookers are a bit small. another important factor is pin placement, on the fookers/chesters the pins are farther from the edges of the pedals. this means that they do not grip as well if you foot is hanging off the pedal, since your weight will be on the outside edge where on higher end pedals the pins are on the outside. Also I have had a set of Kona wah wah 2 composites and loved the feel, but I recently broke them. I am going to go for some sam hill nukeproof pedals next.
I've also got the knockoff pedal called EXCELSIOR Bought it for 9 dollars Been using it for almost 7 months and still no problem, been using it on trail, muddy terrain, dusty terrain, submerged it on water, left on sun and abused Still good as new and performed as new Never serviced it because as i mentioned it's feels new The grip is phenomenal The only problem is my shin, it's not as durable as the pedal😂 Keeps bleeding everytime

The problem with encouraging buying the pedals you mentioned will drive the price up for those pedals. As of 20/02/22 £48 for those Fooker pedals so it's no longer a bargain Amazon UK.

Apparently they tripled the price of their knock offs. They are 60 dollars in Canada. Certainly not paying premium money for knock offs.
Really great companies don’t charge you twice what a product is worth. Especially ones having their products made in China.

Hard to tell for sure, but I think there are copies of those aluminum pedals out there as well. Wonder if it's possible to buy the knockoffs, then refurbish them with an official rebuild kit once the bearings wear out?
I love knockoff stuff when it is high quality and I don't hate to say it.

I've got the Tag Metals, and I've been very impressed. The pedals are the grippiest flat pedals that I've ever used. On top of that, their customer service is amazing. I emailed them a question, and I had a personal detailed response within an hour. They also sent me some spare pins to boot!

I've never found a reason to stray from Raceface Chesters
The only ones if these that I've used are the Nukeproof Neutrons. They are good but the worst for shin-ripping I've ever had.
I do usually use clipless pedals. How ever I also use Crank Brothers Stamp 1 pedals in small.
I ride flat composite pedals in the mud and snow in the wintertime. Clipless for the summer.
I run the HT PA03A pedals and they r amazing
