I bought one of these years ago but it broke. I purchased another one, 4G for a little more than the one I bought years ago. What I like is the fact that you can add a micro sd card for added memory. I purchased a 64GB card off Ebay for $12.00 so I can transfer all my Audible books and music. Another nice feature is that you can transfer all your music CD'S to this device. I highly recommend it

You know what triggers me? The fact that this tiny mp3 player has a headphone jack and mini USB port, but phones nowadays (when I commented this) don't even have a headphone jack while the screens are getting bigger.

Humm. I don't remember having a SD card slot on mine, I just used a USB cable when I used it, but I just did that to charge, my dad was the one who transferred the files way back when.
Honest, this was one of the *BEST* things I *EVER* got for my birthday all of those years ago, as a kid, I rode in the car, and clipped it onto the handle at the roof, so that the radio could work, and I could listen to what I wanted and how loud I wanted, and I could record the radio to listen later, and add my own music to it (but I never did that last one, I think my dad used iTunes to do that for me.). I would recommend that to anyone, that is, if I could time travel back to when they were sold. :)

Thank you Richard, I finally got it and I yes, it has a fm radio recorder but I started recording a two hour live program in the radio and it only recorded half an hour, it seems like it stopped recording or something, I was in my classroom so I left it recording and put it aside and when I checked two hours later, I realized it only recorded 30 minutes. Any ideas? The battery was fully charged and it was still on, I mean, it didn't turn off or anything, it jus stopped recording.
Hello Richard, I loved you review of the Sansa Clip mp3 player and I want to buy it because it has the fm radio recording feature but I clicked on the link you posted to buy it through Amazon and the seller told me it does NOT have the feature to record fm music directly from the device. They say it can only record from another device which makes no sense. Can you reconfirm please?

I have a clip jam that i ordered on amazon and it was refurbished and i when it arrived i started listening to music on this thing and the earbuds are good and the fm radio stations have good reception some of them but i gotta this is good for me i like listening to my 90s music

QUESTION: How fast is the song menu scrolling on this player? I have 1000-ish songs and I don't want to spend 5 years scrolling just to listen to a song in the middle. I know for sure the Clip Sport takes 17 sec to scroll thru that many songs What about the Clip Jam?

@DaRandomKid The back clip slides on and clicks in place. You can slide it off with a firm push, but it doesn't come off in normal use.

@MrGaryg7 I need to buy a few of these! I love mine. I don't use it much for playback now that I have a 32 GB iPod G4, but it's still a great little audio recorder for covert recording of conversations, both in person and on the phone. Check your local laws for the legality. I'm still loving the tiny size, super long battery life, ridiculously long term charge retention when powered down (months!), and the drag & drop. The iPod proprietary data transfer sucks.
This mp3 player is great. I got it for just over 20 Dollars, and it was great. easy to use, great sound quality and long battery life. I had it for over a year and i had not problems with. Now it starts to have some problems but only because it was in my pool. However if you are looking for an mp 3 player and you don't want to pay so much. This is the one you should go for.

i will give all of you the run down of the clip .everybody says they die after 3 days to more than three months and all their fault sort of the battery wire to make the battery charge in it will sometimes gets disconected so it tends to not turn on if not charged so simply open the unit and saulder the wire back to the battery. this should fix the "dieing" problem. and if it freezes up go back to the main menu and wait a few seconds i think the reason why the wire comes during EXERCISE so it get

@piggykiller77 I lost my 2 GB Sansa Clip. I immediately replaced it with the 4 GB version for about the same price I paid for the 2 GB version. The version with the mini-SD card had been out for a while, so the previous version was cheap.
