I do cooking content on my channel and I have a Rokinon 12mm regular lens that I use for close ups, but this 85mm cine lens looks like something that would be great.

Question wouldnt the 85mm be technically be a 170mm because of micro four thirds 2x crop factor.
This lens is a beast! I run this one, along with the 50mm and 16mm on my BMPCC4K. Great stuff brother! Loved “The Barn!”

hey isn't Samyang and Rokinon the same ??? I would like a sigma but man IM broke and im shooting with a Sony a7III the only lens I own is 16-35mm gm I can't afford another gm . I was thinking a good 85 would be great to mix it up . I shoot in slog 3 and log a lot so Im not worried about matching colors . is the Rokinon D cine series 85mm a good choice . or should I save up and just buy the xeen 85 ?? what would you guys do ??

This lens is beautiful imgs.love/SY_lens?kたa We have used this for portrait and video. It produces nice portraits as far as I can tell. We found it very useful for video especially if you use it on tripod and low light.

Hey man, I have a technical issue I was hoping you could help me with. I recently purchased a set of these lenses for my EOS80D, I am shooting a movie next year. I just tried them on, and I keep getting the message that I have to ensure that a lens is attached, on all four of them. However, when I switch back to my plain old Canon 18-55 EF-S lens, it works like a charm... got suggestions on what might help? I've tried cleaning the contacts but it was of no use..

It's tough to do, but I used it for photos and for the price you can't beat it....it operates very smoothly and the pictures care out great. Setting focus was supper hard to do. I agreed step down to 2.8 or better to make it easier on yourself.

I understand Rokinon makes this lens for this mount however, some buddies of mine are recommending i get the EF version of this lens with a speed booster. I understand I will get an extra stop but besides that would you say there is more differences? Thanks bro

In your opinion would you purchase a Rokinon cine lens kit or build up your own kit of sigma glass with similar focal lengths? I’m only asking because with I can probably pull off a sigma art self made kit right around if not cheaper since I already own a 18-35. I’ll add aftermarket focus gears to them. Thank you for your video! I have a Canon EOS Rebel SL1 with an APS-C sensor. I purchased the 85mm Rokinon lens for it, but my field of view is much narrower with this lens than it would be on full frame cameras. Any tips to get a wider field of view with this lens on my camera? Or do I have to purchase a full frame camera?
