There is no way this lens can be purchased cheap in Canada. They Mark it very high for brand new one $650 US dollars after tax.
I was considering this lens for interview style videos in a rather small room (I would stand maybe 2 meters from the subject). Would it be good used on a croped frame dslr (so it would act as a 50mm)?

I want to ask you , is sigma 18-35 best lens for bmpcc6k or Rokinon Cine Ds primes or any other lens you can suggest. I am interested in 1) Best overall image quality 2) edge to edge Sharpness 3) minimum Distortion at Wide angels 4) which lens is more sharp at a constant usable aperture like 2.5, rokinon or sigma. I am beginner so I need some help . I want to buy a lens which can use the camera's full potential. Your reply would mean a lot to me

I've been using the Rokinon/Samyang 85mm t/1.5 for many years now as my go to portrait and video lens. Love the bokeh and sharpness it gives me. Been using a cheap Canon (40mm) and Yonguo (50mm) for all my my wider needs, but I'm starting to be disappointed by how they hold up against my much nicer 85mm. Decided today to look into replacing them both with a Rokinon/Samyang 35mm so I've been looking up videos all afternoon. Yours is by far the best I've seen so far. Most others the person is just holding the lens and talking about it, but you actually spend the whole video SHOWING us what the lens can do, and I appreciate that very much. Great work, thanks for the review.

Thanks for a video! I have those lenses 24/50/85 mm and considering to try Sony a7s camera with them. Using a mount converter, did you noticed any crop? I am wondering since it seems to push lens a little bit further from the sensor. Great job with colors too!
Did you find it hard to get the focus right on this lens? I'm considering getting this lens. I notice some shots look unusually soft but it's a fast lens so that's tough to manage on the fly. HOWEVER you have some great shots in here. Everything looks super slick and the low-light is solid with plenty of detail and dimension. I think you nailed one of the tricks with low-light cinematography. Good low-light doesn't exactly mean turn darkness into brightness, so you pick the right angles were even if the shot itself is still dark, there is a definite composition there and it's clear what is happening and where things are.
Very miserable color reproduction, a modern lens with a motor and nothing more. Losing in my opinion canon L

you can get a basic set of these on amazon for a grand. im thinking to pull the pin and get them they look great. ive only got a 28-70 kit lense. the learning curve is steep its either that or replace my a7 with a gh5 and go balls deep into colour grading but i think maybe best to learn the lense system and what you can do with it. i shot in a club once it turned out horrid.

Nice video, I get some sort of homesick to Amsterdam, such a lovely town with cool people there...but: 2hours driving to Belgium and you are knocked out? If I drive 3,5h to Amsterdam in the morning, stay the whole day in this feisty town, drive back in the evening/night...than I'm knocked out. And I was born in 63...🤣
