I was considering this lens for interview style videos in a rather small room (I would stand maybe 2 meters from the subject). Would it be good used on a croped frame dslr (so it would act as a 50mm)?

I want to ask you , is sigma 18-35 best lens for bmpcc6k or Rokinon Cine Ds primes or any other lens you can suggest. I am interested in 1) Best overall image quality 2) edge to edge Sharpness 3) minimum Distortion at Wide angels 4) which lens is more sharp at a constant usable aperture like 2.5, rokinon or sigma. I am beginner so I need some help . I want to buy a lens which can use the camera's full potential. Your reply would mean a lot to me

Seems like a good lens, but beating any super zoom lens is nothing special. Comparing it to a Samyang AF 35mm f/1.4 lens or the new Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro lens (for example) would be much more interesting.

Not precise. Too many info cramped loosely in a small video. Don't educate viewer about 24/50 autofocus lens in this title. Create separate video for that.

I've been using the Rokinon/Samyang 85mm t/1.5 for many years now as my go to portrait and video lens. Love the bokeh and sharpness it gives me. Been using a cheap Canon (40mm) and Yonguo (50mm) for all my my wider needs, but I'm starting to be disappointed by how they hold up against my much nicer 85mm. Decided today to look into replacing them both with a Rokinon/Samyang 35mm so I've been looking up videos all afternoon. Yours is by far the best I've seen so far. Most others the person is just holding the lens and talking about it, but you actually spend the whole video SHOWING us what the lens can do, and I appreciate that very much. Great work, thanks for the review.

I own this lens and use it some times for my work. Its an absolutely fantastic lens. I am planning to move towards the RF mount system so any comparison with the new Canon RF 35 mm 1.8 lens would really be great.

Very nice review. Helpful indeed. Seems to be an excellent performer in almost all regards. Only weakness seems to be that the bokeh balls sometimes have the iris reflected in them. I've noticed that in several Samyang's. Thanks!

I did not know it was sold under this many brands. I mean, who are the Koreans trying to fool? They make awesome value lenses. An asian sounding brand would not put me off as long as I see/read consistently favorable reviews everywhere. Anyway, good job reviewing this lens, thank you.

The only issue I have with this lens is focussing because it's so responsive especially at night with such a small screen on my A7s but I guess I'll get better with it over time.
@dave narra this makes a terrible wide angle on the GH2. even with a speedbooster it's not thaaat wide

Do you know if these lense work on mechanical film SLR camera? My SLR has a pentax mount, and I know that you can buy Samyang for pentax. But I don`t know if it works with that kind of gear.
