I love the new Sony 135 1.8 GM lens◐◐> It yields sharp results even wide open, produces stunning bokeh, renders color beautifully and I am seeing very little distortion, chromatic or spherical aberration. It focuses closer than any other 135mm lens I have used. I love the aperture ring on the lens, the two programmable focus-lock buttons (one of which I program to activate "Eye AF"), and the focus limiter switch. AF is quick and silent though in low light may hunt to lock on focus.
Hasn't Samyang/Rokinon offered body-controlled aperture for the K-mount for a while now? I thought for at least 10 years. I have been wanting an 85 1.4 for portrait-ing, but I'm wondering if the 100 or 135 wouldn't make a better single choice by offering some macro-ability.
and im still waiting for samyang to make an autofocus lens for this absolute lens

Hey Chris, I'm in love with this lens after watching your review, but I'm a little confused by the companies. There's one on that's called Walimex Pro 135mm f2 and looks to be exactly the same lens as the Samyang or Rokinon only slightly cheaper and with electrical contacts for Exif data. Can I assume that the quality will be identical?

The Samyang 135mm has very low amounts of CA even wide open! You must have had a bad sample or something about the version on the E Mount must create problems for CA
Never heard or experienced this problem with that lens. It’s known for being apochromatic.
Hmm, it would have been interesting to see a comparison with your other lenses, re: how they handle early morning / late afternoon sun hitting the glass. I would imagine you could eliminate some of that with a matte box and polarizing filter. It's a cine lens, after all and often lens flare is used to great effect. Chromatic aberration, no so much, that's just unacceptable.
Hi Adam, wow there was a lot of flaring and color distortion after watching the video at 2160p . Have you heard of this happening to others or do you think this is a problem with your lens? I know I've received a lens that was a part of my Canon kit, the lens had the exact same flaring problem. Canon stepped up and replaced the lens with no problems, just had to ship it to them for testing. Bummer man, hope all works out!

Rokinon and samyang are the same company. Its just that in north america the samyang lenses are called rokinon instead of samyang. Everything else but name is the same And that 135f2 lens is gold

Please get the terminology right. You might not think it's important, but you are confusing people about an already complex system. This lens does not stop down to f2 (or are you saying 'step down'?) . It stops down to f22.
