Debating on purchasing this lens or the sigma 15mm or even the canon 8-15mm if I can find one at the right price. I would be using the lens for skateboarding so I somewhat like the bulbous fish-eye effect. What would you recommend?
I bought the lens a couple of months ago. Sharpness is hard to beat but CAs are a bit critical on my R7-II (3 to 5 pixels width in the corners). I can get rid of them using rawtherapee but in 1:1 view grayscaled edges are still visible. Nevertheless the lens is absolutely worth its money. I love the distortion because balls remain circles in the image no matter where they are. Object are bent but their aspect ratio seems to be untouched. I originally planned it for astro photography but mainly I use it for interiour and landscape. For this it is a sinister addition to my Sigma 14-24mm F2,8 DG DN.
will this work well on a sony a7iii/w mc11? will it work for virtual tour panorama?
Hi Christopher , did you tested by any chance this lens with the Canon EOS R ? I am really interested how does it perform or work at all because the 14 mm is not compatible on the EOS R , makes the camera to freeze . Cheers . Adrian

I have just purchased the Sony a7iii, and am looking to get this lens for my 360 virtual tour business. I have read that it's quite soft at the edges, have you found this? I normally shoot at f10.
Hello chris would you prefer the Samyang 12mm over the Sigma 15mm? I shoot skateboarding and like distortion but i cannot tell which one has more clarity.

Just got this lens for $175 and Im pumped! Its sharp as fuck, its wide as hell, its great! I got it on my EOS R, now I gotta try it for Astro.I got a 16-35 as well but 175 was just too cheap to say no to. I dont regret it!

I am new in photography. I've just bought sony a6000 and thinking of getting rokinon 12 mm. f2.0 but I wonder if it has the fisheye feature? I really liked the fisheye feature of this lens but can I use it on sony a6000? also do I need to do de-fishing to get a regular wide angle photo in this one?

Great video!! I was planning to purchase the Nikkor Fisheye 10.5mm but it's quite expensive this Rokinon seems a great cheaper alternative! But I have a Nikon D5200 (DX smaller cropped sensor), will I still be able to use this Rokinon lens? Many thanks again! PS: Just noticed lots of people are asking the same question!

Wow great content from a pro! Thanks for the video. There's some Adobe plugin that does a defish that just crops the corners. Wish I could remember what it's called but another 12mm f2.8 review video mentioned it. I use a 21mm rectilinear for real estate. I don't have the balls for using a fisheye like that, my clients are mean.
