Was gifted this after someone snooped my Amazon and saw I was looking at buying a second BenQ PD3200U. Parents wanted to get me a monitor, but weren't about to spend $700, so they gave me this. It's ok, but it doesn't look great next to the BenQ. lol
TBH, I dont agree with this review. Its sharp, I had this monitor for over 3 years, and it has the best image, among of all monitors I have tested. The only bad thing about this monitor is the light bleeding and viewing angles, other than that, its the best. The only issues with Samsung monitors, as that you need find one that is white, mostly all monitors nowadays are yellow tint. The other monitor the revised version. Is garbage I bought this on Black Friday and was garbage, didnt even compare to the other one. Was washed out the colors, the original one TN was way better color production. Once you play with the settings, its the best. Do not turst reviews, go buy it and make sure you get luck and find a good white color temp by default. And then you will see the monitor is fking awesome. The pixels on the Samsung original one shown here, even the pixels are sharper better and not washed out. 9:24 you can clearly see the updated monitor is yellow.
Is it really TN? Samsung website says LU32J590 is VA. https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/uhd-and-wqhd/32-uj590-uhd-monitor-lu32j590uqnxza/ And, considering VA, you should have tested for VA specific issues, such as black crush when viewed straight on. Also, the strength of VA should be reviewed - it's good blacks in dark scenes, no IPS glow or bleeding.
I have the older 28" model that you hated and I'm considering the 31.5" as a replacement and moving the 28" to my wife's PC. Why? Because I'm cheap. It's interesting being able to see them side to side. Thanks.
uj59 is a VA panel not a TN panel
Wish I saw this video before purchasing the monitor. It is pure garbage and I'm planning to return it. I just ran into a snag where I can't get the foot off. Any suggestions?

Just bought one and whites are too yellow. I've update the drivers, tried both hdmi ports and display port and adjusted red and green to 0 but still yellow. Anyone have a solution other than getting a better monitor?

I have had the same monitor for 12 years now. It's an HP w2207. When I put my cellphone screen next to it you can tell the screen is more yellow than white. Still, I thought it was a great monitor when I bought it. My GFs best friend got a job with Samsung last year. I have already called in a favour for the 32". Should arrive next week.

Great review! I have a question though (for anyone) I’m running an MSI Tri- Frozen RTX 2070, if I were to upgrade to a 4K monitor with a higher refresh rate could my gpu handle it? I just got this UJ59 32in Samsung monitor... I love it but I was coming from a 5 year old Asus VS247H-P 23.6" Full HD 1920x1080 2ms using a dvi cable Lol. Now one thing about the Samsung is the hdmi 1 only allows for 30hz max, hdmi 2 is what gives 2160p @ 60hz. I’ve watched some movies in 2160p and some I was super impressed with but others seem super dark. But adjusting brightness does help or makes the imagine look funny. But I am looking at it from a funny angle because the stand doesn’t allow for tilt adjustment. Also I’m running’s hdmi on slot 2 but I want to try for the display port.

My first 4K monitor. Not going to lie my 1080p monitor is still better and I paid about the same amount of money for it. I can't really see a difference between this 4K monitor and my IPS display 1080p monitor. Not to mention my 1080p monitor has no bezels and it's like 6 years old. I should have just got another 1080p with a higher refresh rate. Oh and my 6 year old monitor has built in speakers. This one doesn't so it makes watching movies a pain when I have to have a headset to go to bed while watching a movie.
Anyone know how I can just use the hdmi port and disable the dp port on this monitor?

I just bought this exact model today... I have the upgraded hdmi cable and didn’t realize it was hdmi 2 that gives 60hz for 4k. I had it plugged in hdmi1 (until my DisplayPort cable comes in) but my RTX 2070 ran assassins creed odyssey just fine on high settings with zero stutter and zero lag
I don't know why HDMI 2 can not run 4K 60FPS. In win 10, it shows 4K 30FPS.

I just bought one at Walmart, opened box for $130! Unfortunately, I'm waiting for a power supply for the monitor to come into the mail, but it seems like it should work. I was tempted to also pickup a 29in LG Ultrawide as well since it was open boxed, but I think the 4K monitor will be enough for my single player games and for video editing. My multiplayer PC games are played on an Alienware 25in 240hz monitor.
