I got this phone in march 2018 but is was the exynos version(I live in Canada) and after 1 year and a half it started lagging and restarting by itself. So I replaced it with the google pixel 3, which is better in every way

I have a5 2017 and i love it
I still own a samsung galaxy a5 which i bought in 2017. It was used as a backup phone because i got a samsung galaxy a90 5g on contract The samsung a90 lasted just over a year befpre it completely died i ha e no insurence and ive still got 1 year left on my contract. So until either my contract is cheap enough to pay off or i can get a new phone. Ill have to go back using the samsung galaxy a5 i know back in 2017 i was impressed with the phone. But the big question does it still hold up today .
