insane Sound for that price
I bought this during lockdown (covid) after reading the recommendation on Samson's site(recommended for making YouTube videos). It was a total waste of money. This thing picks up so much noise around the house, kitchen drawers closing three rooms away! Desktop movement noise of your hands, mouse. You can't event breathe close to this thing. It sounds like you are making some heavy breathing creepy recording. I don't have a sound booth yet, planning on building some sound absorption into my room, but I truly believe a mic like the q2u will be much better. I wish I can try one of those before spending more money. Just short - don't waste your money!
how can you mute it
i have this mic. I mainly use it for cortana on my PC but i have used it to make youtube vids. But to make them sound better, i put a towel under it so it cant pick up all the other vibrations. Now im using an old tripod to make a mic stand for it.

tbh you could probably make your own mic adapter by glueing a magnet and some foam to a mic thread and just sticking it on
I got mine in a limited edition white from amazon for $10 and for $10 there's a lot worse options. and honestly it probably should stay around the $20-30 range to be competitive

I like the other lens better because I am used to it. I was curious about the Meteorite compared to the Meteor and they sound pretty much the same with more noise in the Meteorite. What audio software is good for this mic?
This thing sounds like trash. Upper mids and highs are ridiculously boosted, it’s preamp is super noisy, and it has NO background noise rejection.
Got one on the bay for 11 bux. Worth it.

Can you explain how to choose a boom arm? My friend has this mic and needs a boom to get it off the desk. I'm assuming you use the same boom arm for all your mic tests. It's okay that the Samson Go mic doesn't do 18Khz-20KHz. The fast majority of people can't hear above 16KHz, mainly just kids.

Samson Go captures more frequencies imo. So what I'm trying to say, it sounds more alive, where the Meteorite sounds rather sterile. Thanks for the comparison, Paul! Cheers!
