Exactly on point and what I started with. You really don't need more except (maybe)another mounted tom 13" and 16" crash to be complete. But still this is a GOOD dinner club "JAZZ SET"

I had these a long time ago when I started playing drums. I even recorded a bit with them. They sound totally competent, especially the hi-hats. The ride has some odd overtones, but for someone just starting on drums, these sound great. When I bought them (like over 15 years ago), they were the cheapest cymbals I could find. And definitely sounded better than the entry level Zildjians at the time.

I've played some dog-ass awful cymbals in my day, just starting out...these cymbals sound soooooooo good in comparison. Really nice! And I agree with others who commented that you recorded these well. Most videos sound terrible and make the cymbals sound like pie tins.
I have a pair of the very first b8 hats they sound better then some of the expensive hats

In my experience, but the bottom hat on top and add a ching ring and they sound phenomenal.
I played this ride cymbals along with my Zildjian A Custom and K Dark crash at a gig(as I didn't bring my own ride) and I didn't really like it that much. The bow of it sounds mediocre, the edge sound pretty good and is pretty crushable but the bell sucks, not clarity at all so not good for bell accenting but it is pretty good for it's cheap price, much better than a Camber ride haha!

A little over five years later and the drums and cymbals in this recording sound like they could be samples from a modern midi device. Great recording, and thanks for doing justice to the Sabian B8 series! The 14" B8 Hi-Hats and 18" B8 Crash/Ride were what I consider to be my first quality cymbals. I still use them at shows to this day. I got them used so I didn't get that Crash but it sounds good, and practical. I have yet to find a crash/ride, or plain ride, that I'd be willing to replace it with because it's so gentle and warm for subtle Jazz style playing with wire brushes, yet so explosive on its edge for Rock style playing. It's very sensitive. The Hi-Hats would be easier for me to replace, comparatively, but they have a nice, substantial 'tick' sound to them for time keeping and the 'splash' sound they make is full enough to free up your hands for tom playing--I do a lot of splashing with the Hi-Hat pedal. . . The way you mixed the audio in this video is magical. Very raw too, it sounds like this kit could have been used in Horus And The Pharoah by the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex.
It has horrible Clancy overtones, spend another couple of bucks and get the alpha Heavy ride, it is 10 times better, it has a powerful bell, it crashes strong and mine lasts 10 years+
Horrible ride. Even the B8x is a drastic improvement. Worst bell sound possible.

my cymbal was popped inward by a friend years ago and I left it like it was, it's this exact cymbal and it sounds better than it did before

I would buy zildjian any day but sabian I would just throw them aroud they would be craked anyway the 1 time I hit it

Zildjian 21" Sweet Ride and Sabian HHX groove ride...two great crashable rides. You can find the sweet ride used for probably around $180, and the groove ride around $250 used.
do yourself a favor dude, don't get cymbal packs, they might be cheaper, but you need to go to a store and test out a whole bunch of cymbals until you find the one you absolutely love.
if you want a cheap crash, look at Wuhan, they're known more for china's but they make some nice sounding crashes for a nice price.
in my opinion as a drummer cause of used this cymbal sabian b8 ride is better than b8 pro medium ride cause it has a better bell.

Remove the duct tape, it makes the cympbal sound like one giant bell.
I got this with with the performence pack, and i had a Ride and Hi hats ZBT that came with my set, but i liked my ZBT ride better so i use the B8 ride as a 3rd crash now.

i don't see why a pro wouldn't play b8's. A cymbal is a cymbal to me,just because it says a low end name on it doesn't meen it's shit. You let your ears decide not your eyes.
