Do not feed and of your pet with this product. One of many other components wich cause allergies SOYA in every single product of royal canin. It's not a food its nonsense!

I work at a vet hospital. The familiarity is the number one reason its recommended. My doctors dont really know any other brand out there and dont bother to learn anything about it. As someone who leans toward holistic and integrative methods of treatment and nutrition its so frustrating. RCVD is a scam. Clients pay for a bag of dust and corn that is nutritionally balanced but the ingredient quality is absolute garbage that just produces a vicious cycle of poor health.
My kittens were on royal canin baby and mother mouse for the first 4 months. As a vet student its the only one I trust. Now they are 4 months old I am transitioning them onto other kitten food.
We have 3 cats and thats all my cats eat . Only the dry food they didnt like the wet food for some reason. I wish the price would come down .

Why do vets recommend Royal Canin? My first vet recommended Royal and Hills. I did some research and realized, theres much better out there.. but I mean, these vets are supposed to know what's best for our pets but, do vets recommend these foods so they can buy it from the veterinarian office Is it about money?
i buy Royal Canin for my dog its the only food that doesn't give him runny poo so i plan on switching my cat food to royal canin as well, also my vet pushes science diet
my vet said my cat has to be on this for life because he has urinary crystals I was feeding him Tiki BFF, and Weruva before. I'm not sure I agree. I got pretty litter to monitor the crystals and might try switching him back

To me Royal Canin is made like breakfast cereal regarding their ingredients plus pork plasma mixed in.
Vets promote RC due to the monetary kickbacks they get from the company.
Royal Canin is crap, the nutritionists are employees which make their research suspect and it is not peer reviewed.
Do vets get a commission or free products from Royal Canin?
Animal byproducts are what they scrap off the floor of the Slaughterhouse. Can include tumors from a deceased animals. My one cat was on Royal Canin for years for kidney issues. But He sufferers IBD too, Chronic Diarrhea and food vomiting. Also took medication for it. Vet said he needed an ultrasound to addeess the food vomiting. But I switched the food to a holistic food everything stopped. No more Diarrhea. or vomiting. And now may be taken off his medication. What does this say about some of these prescription foods? But we still have to address the kidney issues. So far just with monitoring thru vet visits. It's so scary in the back of your mind always asking yourself am I doing what is better for the cat and their health?
Surprised to see the ingredient list for the dry food you got! When looking at the ingredients for different Royal Canin cat food in Sweden, the first ingredient is mostly bird protein, and no wheat gluten, only rice and corn, but those are further down in the list

Took my siamese to the vet. Vet said she had some eye deterioration due to lack of enough taurine. Couldnt feed her the same diet as my other cat. So now she will probably be on this food for awhile.

Ingredients for royal canine british shorthair in UK and US (or in any other region) are completely different. Same for all other foods.Pets dont need different food based on location. Be careful what you believe.
pretty sure royal canin has some substance added to make cats hooked... took almost 3 months to make our cat eat anything else
