Is there something likes this except you can add your own sounds and it is 2x5?
Is there any product like this without the library? All I need is a high quality drumpad meant to be played with sticks. I already own an AKAI MPK88 which has built in pads to be played with fingers, but this doesn't give me that much control of sensitivity, nor is it like play a kit. And I'm guessing the library and fx on any drumpad, ups the price, and I won't be using anything other than the pads and my DAW's sample plugin. I produce pop and hiphop songs, so a full on realistic drumkit, isn't necessary for me.
Does the SPX-SX have the same dynamic pad functions? Are they as dynamic as this? with the dual layer pads?
Does the SPD-SX have the same sort of Phrase Loop function? and Can I trigger samples off of something like Ableton live with the Octapad. I am stuck between investing in these two devices.

Do you have the 2 machines connected together via midi or are you running them separately? Can you connect the 2 drum machines together to give you 17 pads? I have an original octapad 8 and thinking of buying the SPD SX hence my question of linking them together. Thank you.
