Hi I want to buy the black remo drum you play. The edge of the head isn't as curved as other djembe's. Since I am use to doing slaps on regular djembe's will I have to change my technique to play slaps on this? And if I get use to doing slaps on this, will I have to change my technique again to do slaps on regular djembe's? Or can you use the same slap technique on this as on the regular djembe's?

I like your way to show. I learned by myself and I already know some rithm. I'm lookink from yours. The only thing is that what you teach is not as good as how it sounds. But your rithms are great... keep posting it but thing like a newb! good musician, youtuber on going...
Appreciate the lesson, could you possibly do a video demo of hand-drumming with the Soundshapes? I've been looking everywhere and it's a topic that's being studiously avoided. 
I don't understand the purpose and concept of distingushing the "traditional way of playing djembe" and so called "freestyle playing" demonstrated in this video. Many times one can see videos of african djembefolas playing "hand to hand" technique, with all the ghost notes, etc. :-)

I took my remo drum to the USA this week to hold a workshop there, and the entire quality of the drum has diminished. It's loose and baggy the sound has gone awful. It must have been the pressure in the hold of the plane. Is there any way to tighten it and recover the wonderful sound?
