I would not trust this mount for that particular application, no. At the moment I don't think RAM has anything available that would work for that, but I would expect something to be available soon, so make sure to check back either on their website or ours.

Great videos.. I have a Dakota 20 and need a very secure way to mount to some oversized (1 1/8") handlebars. This doesn't appear to accomodate 1 1/8" bars does it? Also, I'm slightly worried it would be easy to pop off if you crashed. Is there something better for holding this GPS on to oversized bars for mountain biking? Thanks!
I use a couple of cheap chinese plastic clamp holders. Been using them for more than five years. They handle crashes pretty good. I've flung phones many times and never broke a screen. I used to wear them out twice a year but now that I'm electric I ride faster but smoother! Been using the same ones for years now. Daily commuter!

Using a GUB earlier generation myself. Can't use quadlock because of the need for wireless charging on my desk and etc and the quadlock gets in the way plus it cost much more. I think Baseus has a cheaper alternative to Quadlock for those looking to get it.

i dont think id be as scared of the mount dropping the phone as i would be about crashing and breaking my phone on impact
I have the gub and it was ok to use. But not that model, i have a simpler one with the phone not sticking up that much. But yeah the metals is kinda the risk of it. But with the price compared to the quadlock, i will have to take the gub, just put rubber case on your phone. But if only i can affor the quad lock. I would use that.
If you want a water resistant and super secure you can just use a phone bike bags like rosewheel which i own a new bike

The "trackform" mount is the best I've found. I run them on all my bikes and have yet to have any issues.
What bike r u using? Is that a 29er?
