I used to had the same set up,I was confused in how to wire them,I was getting static's from my tweeters, I purchased some components db 6502 came with crossovers, way to go with an S2000
Hi I have a crossover for my tweeters its prewired. I understand that one end goes to my coaxial door speaker the other side of the crossover has 3 wires red a black and white? Am I right in thinking the red goes to positive of tweeter and black negative do i just blank of the white wire?
Instead of soldering the wires can i use crimp locks on to the positive and negative speaker wires?

Are you only using 2-channels (left/right) for the speakers from your head unit? Or are you able to get more output by using 4-channel (assuring most head units have 4 channels)
Hey Kyle thanks for the great and easy install of your tweeters. One question for you and others. I have a 2002 NB without factory tweeters. But there is a tweeter speaker grill on the door panel. I was wondering how I can install aftermarket tweeters. Anyone know if the original wiring coming into the door panel is prewired for tweeters? If so, which color wires. FYI there are about 11 wires coming into the door panel. I have an aftermarket Kenwood DIN stereo head. Wondering if in my case would it be best to wire the tweeters to separate lines from the head unit using the potentially factory installed wiring? Or if its still a better idea to wire it up like Kyle has done. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Looking to get the audio ready for the coming summer. Original speakers were terrible.
Will both tweeters play? What if you don't have a designated crossover? Will the coaxial speakers come with a crossover?
You forgot 1 step. Cut the wires going to the coax teeter. This is how you property turn a coaxial into a component set.
That black gunk on your hands is either rustproofing from a car dealer, or the cheap glop the car maker used to seal a sheet of plastic to the inside of the door. In your case, it's the el cheapo plastic sheet sealer. It * never * dries! So if you buy a new car, never, ever get rustproofing from a car dealer. Take it to a shop that does rustproofing, and talk to the clerk about getting rustproofing that will dry to a nice, crispy finish.
What if running coaxials with stock tweeters??

Wouldn't the tweeter and coaxial frequencies interfere with one another? Was thinking it might not sound as true and clean as with separates or just coaxial by itself. And only if you are powering the 2 front speakers (plus the tweeter) the head unit amplifier doesn't distribute the unused power of the other 2 free channels to power the fronts.... so you're still left with whatever only wattage the head unit has powering the fronts.
What gain & frequency should i set my tweeters on my car stereo settings?
Umm I'm confused, you said the stripe wire was your positive wire. 99 percent of the time the stripe is your negative, you might want to make sure. If that stripe wire is going to stripe wire from head unit, that's negative and your polarity is backward.
Was it too much tweeter? That's always the problem with adding tweeters to coax speakers
thanks! i was pretty sure this is how to do it, just wanted to make sure. i prefer a coaxial + tweeter setup also. mids and highs sound way crisper
