thank u so much
what about next time when we use these pans after doing all the steps... ? you wash it again with soap right? coz if it is stored for the few days my pans become very sticky (not cooking sticky but sticky on touch ) due to oily surface residue.
Mam how can clean the paint mixing Rod's rust. Pan can able to heat but mixing rod...
Nice
Hi Nisha mam, thanks for such a nice video. recently I purchased a cast iron kadai for my mother and she started using it, but one problem she faced. Eachtime she cooked the curry or fried items turned black and hence she stopped cooking on it. Now the cast iron kadai is rosted heavily. I am going to restore it by using the way you showed here.My question was does anyone else face same issue like cooked item turns black or darkar in color. If yes what's the proper way to avoid it. All replies and suggestions are highly appreciated.
Should we use the same process for outside of the pan as well?
Thanks a lot ! Very useful tips. Is the same process applicable for normal iron kadhai or pan ?
Thank you so much mam for all your valuable tips.
Thank you

Gas is better for these pans.
Its a beautiful pan
A modern day cowboy skillet
Beautiful pan...but the price is a deal killer
So a few questions. When seasoning a pan you oil the entire pan? Also, for this pan is the bottom smooth or rough? I don't want to scratch my induction top. Does this pan warp? Over time with continued use did the frying surface become more smooth?
I just bought the 10" version of this pan. I was tired of spending money on cheap Wal-Mart pans ever few years. I'm just going through pan maintenance videos.
I hate carbon steel pans...
Having purchased 2 pans and used them for 6 months, I can confidently say they have no equal...
I have a few AUSion and now US-ion pans. They're really unique and awesome to cook in.
I like BOX also ;) .
Realize this is a two year old video, but would have made a whole lot more sense if you would have also cleaned the pan on camera as well. You talk about seasoning and the process took up a lot of time on the video, then you skip the payoff of the seasoning and don't show us how easy or not it was to clean the pan.
Are you still impressed by this pan? Using it? Thinking of buying one because CI is very heavy and like the idea of a lighter pan with similar heat retention.
only real ones cook their eggs in bacon fat
My Aus ion sauteuse after 6 months is non stick completely with eggs, its been like this for a long time. Oil or butter heated, Eggs in, they slip around. Completely non stick.Battered fish, completely non stick, same with apple slices, mushrooms with eggs. Mostly I just give a wipe with paper afterwards. Sometimes under hot water and slide the chain mail scrubber round, or use wooden spatula. No soap. Shake water off, maybe wipe too be sure its dry. The 22 sauteuse ion is a beautiful pan with its windsor wall. My grandmother had a similar pan, in Aus, maybe from the 1920s. Thats why I first bought this Aus ion, and a little grassfed rsteak cooked in butter tasted like hers.
I thought Australians were known for there copper
I just got the pan and seasoning 2 times already with coconut oil and you said no coconut oil, may I ask will this damage my pan? Thank you
I have a cast pan, that the eggs slide right out of. It does take a fair bit of care to keep it that way.
That looks like the pre seasoned pan already
Nice looking bacon - thanks for doing this review, I'm in Aus & need something like a cast-iron skillet but without the weight and I'm not sure I want a Lodge, having to sand it off and season from scratch. So, will now consider this Aussie brand - Thank You!
you really had me up to the part its like loving a good women the more you give the you get back You really meant to say is the more you give the more they take from you
Cast iron "is actually really easy."*then proceeds to describe 18 step 3 hour process to prepare cast iron for first use.*Oh and when you want to use it, just preheat for 10+ minutes first. And only clean it in the "sweet spot," too soon and you'll break it and too long and you'll break your arm trying to get the food off.But don't worry, other than that, it's really easy. People are just mistaken!
80% accurate here. It's not as much work as they're making out to be
I still see rust when the oil was added. Steel wool is great for cleaning windows not cast iron pans .
Flax seed is the worst oil out there!! Use Grapeseed instead. Heck Crisco is even better.
So true. But some women don't like that it scares them
1:36 isn't that just still completely rusty?
a big thumbs up for the way she has laughed naturally when the video ends.
Does olive oil work too
Season with LARD, not silly, hippy flaxseed oil!
Cast iron cookware is nowhere as rare as a good woman
It indeed it more involved at the start, but after that, it's just smooth sailing. I love my cast iron pan and won't be buying any non-sticks any time in the future
Disagree about flaxseed oil being the best. It's not because:1) It will eventually flake off2) It's expensive AFI like vegetable oil/crisco and or avocado oil...because it has the highest smoke point of all oils.
Lard is the best for your cast iron.
Man I had no idea that you had to wait till the cast iron was hot before throwing food on there. So thats why my food has been sticking lmao
this pan is like a high maintenance girlfriend
Coating your skillet and heat 5 times is best for tour skillet also. 3 times is good but 5 times is best. Wiping out the skillet with paper towels is best cleaning. The least water the better to keep it seasoned.
At the end of every sentence she goes uuuuup on her tone. Very unprofessional and annoying, typical american accent.
Great video...this is the best one I've seen in years. Great job.
The process she used for seasoning is only for first time use please don't keep doing that it is bad on the pan to over seasoning it! For seasoning after that point all you need to do is wash it out with water (no soap needed) then put on the stove to dry then put a little oil in it to help with seasoning (but only in the inside you do not need to seasoning the outside as much). I hope someone finds this helpful... And thank you for this video I'm glad you are spreading the word on cast iron... I grow up using cast iron pans so I really like them.
Can I apply it to light cast iron wok?
Beautiful!
Thank you
my cast iron pan is fairly smooth on the inside and it is the most non stick thing i have ever used
How often do you session ?
10/10 video lol
Can you season the pan on stove top?
This was a helpful video. My mom used to have the best cast iron pan for pancakes, it had very short sides. She doesn't know where it went, though... I think it got "lost" in the move (the people who helped her move weren't very trustworthy and probably stole a few things). As for the Mac instead of PC thing... I personally like PC better most of the time, probably because I know how to use it a lot better than a Mac. However, one area where Mac has always been better is for video editing. The Mac programs are much easier to use for video editing then the PC ones are. PC's put more work into making office type programs better, but Mac's put more work into programs for different types of creativity, like video editing, drawing programs, ect. So, I do understand why you would want a Mac for editing videos.
Does it have to be pre treated after every use
Just got my iron skillet today and it's in the oven seasoning right now. Thank you josh
Season me daddy
I have a 300 dollar cast iron set I bought years ago but I had no idea how to take care of it. So its full of rust. I used it but I didnt know how to clean it properly. Thank you for this video!!!
These older videos of much better to watch.
Why a weird oil with a low smoking point like flaxseed oil? Why not just normal vegetable oil?
Dude what you're doing is damn good!
Probably gonna have to do this with my cast iron griddle that has gotten a little sticky, especially on the corners
Thank you you are very helpful so I can clean my cast-iron skillets
AFTER I SEASON IT....DO I NEED TO OIL IT AFTER USE AND CLEANING?ALSO IN THE OVEN FOR AN HOUR!!
Appreciate it boss
Lol obviously not this account (I made a random name for my kids to not use my account) but my maiden last name is Barlean and its a VERY uncommon last name. Not many of us left apparently.
