I dont have a midi controller yet but I really want to get the Hammer 88 which I think is M-audio - yup just checked its m audio. Mainly because it has weighted keys- its huge though of course.Question what brand and model is your bigger midi keyboard back there?
i cant stand this thing. i think i prefer something with more range (more keys) if youre gonna get something this small you should get something with a few pads on it.
I think the black keys arent raised enough for piano players which can be annoying.

Great video. I am currently using the AkaiAPK Mini MK3. I really like it but it can be a bit cumbersome when it comes to connecting it to my 12.9 IPad Pro. I am strongly considering the Xkey Air25 but for $200.00 thats kind of steep. For $50.00 more I can go out and purchase the M-Audio Oxygen 25. Tell me if you were me . What would you do. because that Midi controller looks nice but is it really worth it for someone who just starting out in the music production and is in the market for a large full size key midis controller.
You can also turn it into a keytar which I think is epic
Hey Jahrell. XKEY Air is great, but given that you're into portability and sensitivity, you might also really dig the Morph. It's also super expressive and supports MPE

I use the irig Keys IO in the bed. Or the OG Yamaha Motif with a Bluetooth to MIDI adapter in the studio.
I've always been worried about lag and connectivity. But you and Henny both really recommend this. I might have to get into this. Great video.
I love the sustain, modulation, and pitch buttons much better than the traditional wheels that most offer. That vibrato is incredible!

The polyphonic aftertouch makes this Ideal for anyone interested in the Clavichord who doesn't have either the time/skill to build one or the not-inconsiderable funds needed to buy one. Pity it's not 51 notes as per many clavichords.
I like the slim design of the xkey, but I'm having a problem with a sound touch delay. There's a slight delay when touching the keys, to hearing the sound. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

What about foldable keyboards? theyre the most portable. Ive seen 49/61 keys but not sure if they have Bluetooth capability.
Hey does it allow you to scroll through menus, for auditioning sounds in a browser for example?
Great that this has polyphonic aftertouch. Really wish they did a 61 note (or at least a 51 note) version to allow a full clavichord syntheses with bebung.

Just bought one and it is the answer to all my prayers! I hate wires and cords when Im making music on my iPad. The keys feel amazing yet different. It get the feel of a keyboard in both the musical and computer sense with the the flat keys. I thought they would feel awkward but they are made with the piano player in mind. Even the fact that the black keys are just slightly raised to give a tactile feel of a real piano is genius! It took forever for me to buy one but I did...and I think all my other midi controllers just became obsolete! Lol

Hi, Just got one of these but cant work out how to control drums in GarageBand and other apps? I can use it for piano, keyboard, guitar but it wont let me use the XKey to control drums. What am I doing wrong?
That midi is solid. I got mine 2 years back when I saw Henny tha bizness using it. Very very good.
I have the irig 25 key with the built in audio interface. I might have to get this too because the irig is too big to carry.
No lag/latency?
having a problem with my Xkey air, when I connect it to beat maker 3 it will let me record like one track then it will disconnect from beatmaker 3 in I would have to go and reconnect any suggestions
i just found one at a thrift store type place for 12 bucks! and I didnt know anything about it before but ive been making music for a little while but never got a device like this. so i believe I got a steal in this device

Wait what this little thing has polyphonic aftertouch? what? Expensive controllers don't even have that and most controllers don't even have monophonic aftertouch at all.
It is a good thing. Those bulky boxes made big to give an impression of value for money isn't good. this has keys as light as buttons. It's great.
Unfortunately the guy selling the keyboard in this video did such a good job I want to keep it for myself as a gag gift. I had to buy a "male to male" connector cable at the Apple Store. This keyboard is a treasure hunt.
