18-55mm Kit Lens vs. a Fast 50mm for Portrait Photos
Pentax K-50 DSLR camera review
Best Pentax Lenses in 2020 [Top 5 Picks Reviewed]
Pentax K-50 review
really enjoyed watching your work thanks for sharing this with us your video very helpfull man cool review is this the kit lens that comes with the K70
man a very good review
At 1:20, by which lens ?
Those girls look like they just rolled out of bed.
Explained very well with results compared. Im a newbie with canon 18-55 and 55-250. Realized that both start from f3.5. However while experimenting i got GOOD BOKEH from the 55-250 . I will consider 50mm 1.8 for next upgrade
Bruh how close were you to the mic. Lol
o
Am using a Nikon D40 with a kit lens but whenever I adjust the lens to 50mm my photo becomes blurred please what do I do?
Which lens is better for nikon d5300? 18-55mm, 50mm or 85mm Thank you
Wait isn't fstop lower when aperture is heigher? And makes good for bokeh?
just because I need to blur backgrounds I invest 50, 60 euros or even more. why not I buy some coffee for 2 euros and make blur in Photoshop by blur option in that with music listening for free :p ;)
Subscribe indian me video editing i do
this thumbs up is for the cuties at the end of the video!
Sweet
"do you want dthissssss". yaaaa I dooouuu
Пиздец страшко из сказки морозко)))
good video, nice comparison 2:37-2:50 looked like an awkward intro to a pron scenethough lol
sorry am a learner and I know nikon is not silly to produce an 18-55mm and later make a 50mm but am still not convinced I need a 50mm, I mean the only difference ws the background blur, something you can do in photoshop, is that really the difference, I don't mean to challenge you, I ask for advice that will convince me, thank you by the way
I bought a 50mm lens (1.8) and cannot figure out for the life  of me how to set it so I can get a full body shot. I am having a horrible time of it, and I have watched several videos on you tube.   Feeling so frustrated, Ive tried everything.I have a NIkkon 3200 D
How do I remove the stock cover/cap on the camera where the lens goes? Thanks
A good review here.Obviously a discontinued model now, I picked a red one up recently. Body, 18-55mm & 50-200mm, Lowpro bag ( Brand new with tags ), 64gb card, 1 Battery & charger for AUD $435 with a shutter count of 267 I also bought three aftermarket, Wasabi Power Batteries ( 1400MAh each, a definite upgrade from Pentax’s own 1050mAh efforts ) along with a twin battery USB charger that can be plugged in to a power bank. well worth the $98.00. Firmware update was done with relative ease and she was good to go I wanted something weather sealed. Nikon’s D7500 body is weatherproof as is the now discontinued D7200 but neither are particularly cheap, even used and the lenses are not weather resistant. The Pentax will be coming on my Round Australia / Round The World Bike Ride, borders / fake flu permitting. Will try and get another body, as I would like to save the low count body for my trip and really hammer it and see how it stands up over time / different weather conditions. I like it though. Not too heavy but has a decent build quality feel to it and fits nicely in the hand
Lovely review. Thanks man!
I was all "what about eye-fi cards" now I see they are no more.
I really love the honesty you use to talk, thank you for sharing a bit of confidence I'm really considering to buy it
Enjoyable video, many thanks!
Hey, I have a huge problem with the display of this camera. Maybe you could help me change the settings - if possible. So I really dislike that the image on the screen before I take the picture looks different to the outcome. For example when I have a sharp object in the foreground and everything else is blurry the outcome can still be that everything is sharp. I know about the settings of the Aperture Priority Mode. Still I would like to see the actual outcome of the picture straight away before I press the button. Is that possible to manage? Thanks!
How much in 2019
Pentax k50 Kelvin available ?
is this camera full frame thanks for the info
how much?
You can never go wrong with a Pentax its the most bang for the buck with one of the best build qualities.
Very nice guy :)
Nikon d5300 or Pentax k50 Which is better?
where to get this
K-50 it's great camera, I'm an owner, but what you say about quality of aperture control block? ;)
I've had a couple of point and shoot digital cameras over the years and got a dslr about 3 months ago. Always used jpeg files, but your example of editing a raw file to bring out details in a shaded area was fantastic! Definitely planning to learn more about editing raw files now.

Pentax HD DA 55-300mm - five picks from my collection. Pentax-FA 1.8/31 Limited Pentax-FA 1.9/43 Limited Pentax-FA 1.8/77 Limited Pentax-DFA* 2.8/70-200 AW Pentax-DFA 2.8/15-30 WR A sixth. Pentax-DFA 2.8/100 Macro WR
DA*16-50/2.8 is optically inferior to Sigma 17-50/2.8 and has sudden death motor with well known ability to die. Especially those manufactured before 2012. It will be replaced by new lens that should come by 2021 as the prototype already was shown. DA12-24/4 is perfcetly built lens with plenty of resolution, unfortunately chromatic aberations are present and are visible. So since I got MUCH wider Sigma 8-16, this lens mostly remains in cabinet. HD-DFA*70-200 is just overpriced huge telephoto lens with slow focusing motor, significant focus breathing and not impressive image output when compared to other 70-200/2.8 lenses. HD-DFA150-450 is interesting and huge 3x zoom that at least has very decent image quality DA55-300 PLM only works on latest bodies so owners of cameras like K5 or K50 won't be happy with these.
Did you try any of these? 16-50 doesn't get best reviews. I love my 16-85, 55-300 PLM, 50-135 f28, 35mm limited macro, 100mm macro and 70mm f2.4 Limited. Out of these you mentioned the 55-300. Many Pentax shooters also love the 31/77 FA Ltd glass not mentioned. Good luck with the amazon links!
Zoom lenses are Pentax's 5 best lenses?! Get lost and a life!
The 16-50 unless recently redesigned while great optically has had SDM issues. After two failures I ended up converting mine to screw drive.
Pentax DA* lenses are rated to cope with rain, and so too are Pentax weather sealed bodies. NO manufacturer can match this, in fact they will claim their bodies and lenses are weather sealed, but when you read the fine print in their user manuals, they'll tell you not to use the products in rain. They even market the cameras and lenses with water on them, yet they'll tell you to get it serviced after its made contact with water. They're only humidity sealed.
Good short to the point video.
16-50mmF2.8は、新型が出るようなので期待しています。
You should have named the video to "best Pentax ZOOM Lenses in 2020" instead. As i would agree with that selection of lenses in the category of zoom lenses I would have to strongly disagree with the selection according to your video being named "best pentax lenses". We can debate about not having one of the remarkable "limited's" in here but we can not debate with not having the new starglass primes in here. When dpreview finally decided to review the new 50mm 1.4 they came to the not surprising conclusion that it is the sharpest 50mm they have ever had in testing (when it was stopped down to 2.0) and it was still on par wide open with the best competition lenses (sigma, otus) in the field. For the new 85mm 1.4 I am not sure yet but from what it looks like in sample pictures it is a beast in sharpness as well. And both lenses are designed to serve even much higher resoultions as well so we have yet to see the true potential of these gems on a possible future k1 mark III Which should also be put into heavy consideration if you buy a lens in 2020. My list would be for aps-c the 16-50mm and the 12-24mm (well chosen). Also the 70-200mm and then the new 50mm and or 85mm and also the 31mm limited maybe.
I have just scored a red k50 along with a DA L 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR Lens and a DA L 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED WR Lens lens kit, manual and software, 2 x 64gb cards, tripod and lowpro camera bag for AUD $435 Shutter count is a remarkable 267 So rare ( even when the k50 was in production) to get a weather sealed DSLR for reasonable $’s I will add a lens or two to this and it will be coming with me on my round Australia/ Round The World bike ride
How do you set it on portrait mode?
The biggest reason I bought it is it is weather sealed
K-50 or d5100 for the same price?
Have you experienced any issues like aperture control block with this camera?
Pentax K50 or nikon d3300, I am looking for a camera which can let me take picture in differnts situations, I mean sometimes I like to go to the forest to take some macros or some landscape pictures, or also for street photography. From what I saw in reviews the pentax looks more polyvalent, but I still have But I still have doubts.
Great video. I'm new to photography and after some research I decided to get the new K-70 releasing next month. Could you recommend me some bang for the buck lenses for K-70? or have a video tutorial on how beginners should find the right lenses for the right price? I'm also worried if used and old lenses are good enough to use.
So basically any older model lens can be used on this camera? Cool! Can't wait till mine gets in. Great video
how noisy is the auto focus on this camera? I keep hearing that the auto focus is very noisy
Great video. How cool is it that you can go out and get old lenses for Pentax for a song and have them just work on their newer cameras like this. Amazing.
Hi, thanks for the video. Just one question, does it have Continuous Focus on video? I know it has a motorized auto focus and work with any lenses, but what about video?
I'm about to buy my first DSLR and I'd like to only one camera brand. Here in my country is not sold the Pentax but the NikCanon do and I liked the Nikon D3300. Why would I choose the K-50 over the D3300? I have made a lot of research about them two.
Thank you for the review. Should I get the 18-55 kit lens that comes with the camera, or the body only? Also with your 50mm 1.7, do you see the split screen focus ring through your viewfinder? I have an old ME super and loved focusing that way. Brings back good memories. Thanks.
Pentax cameras produce excellent photos , too bad they are pretty expensive and have trouble competing with the two giants Canon and Nikon which offer a larger choice of models and lenses . I have a Pentax bridge ( X5 ) and it makes great photos .
I will like to ask you I want to learn macro photography and I have been research a lot on Pentax and they give you a lot for the money but as many newbie is hard to choose the correct camera would you suggest me the k50 or ks2 or even k3 for macro the lens I'm getting is the 100mm 2.8 WR any help will be appreciated thank
