Pentax DA 50-200mm f4-5.6 WR Lens Overview
thanks john for your review. i too am limited in funds, but yet love to dealve into things to push things further. having purchased a dozen or so of real nice takumar prime lenses for an old canon rebel body and Pentax K50, i needed to get out when it rained. I bought a 18-55WR lens and was so happy to walk about the mountains and take some photos when switching out primes would not be a good thing. Question is: Should I spend $50 to obtain this WR lens to add to my "walk about kit in the rain" or not. I think the answer is obvious, but wanted input. Thanks all.
hey man cool review i suscribed it not easy to find Pentax reviews
The 18-55mm and the 50-200mm WR lenses from Pentax surprised the hell out of me with their high level of sharpness and small size. I'm thinking about getting another set used just to have as a back up set. When I compare the size and weight of the 55-200mm to my old Pentax F 70-210mm lens, The newer lens is sharper and weighs about 1/4 the old first generation AF lens. A little side note here: I like to use the old Pentax F 35-80mm kit lens for portraits. It is cheap used and unbelievably sharp.
Is it ok for videography?
so much googling this was just what I was looking for thank you can't wait for my lenses to come in
Awesome. Thanks for the example. Both of these are offered together in a single kit, when purchasing the Pentax K-50. Great help to photography beginners, looking for a visual comparison of the basic differences in their capabilities.
Thanks for this video
Is just what I was looking for, it couldn't be more specific. They say on every page I looked that a zoom with a 18-200mm lens is till 11x, and you can imagine a little bit how would the pic look like, but here you can just see it. Thanks man!
thanks buddy
thanks for this video it is very helpful!
Very good video! Thanks.
when you go put up more loc journey videos?
Sick, foo we should kik it you feel me Gomez late foo in out nigga
I hope you enjoyed this video. Subscribing, liking, sharing, and using APPLAUD helps out a lot! Thanks ;) Get the Pentax SMC Pentax DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR Zoom Lens through my links: B&H: https://bhpho.to/2GodlgL Amazon: https://amzn.to/2I4w1pk eBay: https://ebay.to/35cvXMW
Very happy with this lens which was part of a group purchase: Pentax K-S2; 18-50mm kit lens, and 50-200mm zoom. To which I added a 36mm prime and a photo expert said this would all though a Macro might help. So far the 50-200mm has been great including in pouring rain with lens protected from rain by hood ;-)
For the additional $100.00 CDN.  This lens isn't worth it.  I was debating between this one and the DA-L version of this lens, and for $100.00 you get three extra features:  Metal mount, Lens Hood, and third is the ability to manually focus the lens while in auto mode which WON'T damage the motor mechanism.  The last item is the ONLY thing that is worth considering in my opinion.  For me, I don't need that feature and I'll save $100.00.  It would be different in the lens quality (i.e. Optics) would be better, but they're not, and I can buy a lens hood for cheap if I want one.
Depends. This lens can be used in a downpour but the 55-300 is better optically and reaches further.
Should i get this or the 55-300 for birding with a k5ii
It is a decent lens at a low price. You would use it to supplement your 18-55mm kit lens. This lens starts at 50mm, so with the crop factor it will not be wide enough for general photos like the 18-55mm is. Certainly something to consider if you can't spend hundreds more on a more professional lens.
