Pentax K-3 vs K-5 II Body Comparison
As they don't see it now Sony will take over the entire market
Both great, but I plumped for Pentax. Mainly because nearly everyone else has a Nikon or Canon. Got a hug from the official photographer at a wedding last year as she noticed me using a Pentax. Comforting.
0:19 first time "SIMP" was used ever ...
Ricoh marketing is the only issue....otherwise Pentax is amazing.
long live PENTAX !
here in my place if you arent into photography chances are you'll never know that pentax exists
Guys, a really good review. Informative and entertaining. Keep up with this format and standard. Well done.
in this basic test, the ISO wasn't done entirely correct, straight the camera, I agree. In post both are about the same, especially since you don't need to go that high via ISO to get the same image but have more light and less noise.
Looking back to this video, it is interesting that Nikon quality control has gone down, there are many problems with Nikon cameras. Recall, denial, unhappy loyal customers. Why not a mass movement to another brand, GLASS! accessories etc. Nikon are loosing approx. 26% of the market each year and getting worse.Pentax might be worth looking at.
Love the video guys very creative
Tried em both. Pentax any day.
Alamby is so cute
hy dear I am from india
6:30 bridge!
I use both Nikon and Pentax. The best of two worlds.
pentax k50 vs nikon d3300
Your reviews are so clever and fun that I can watch all of 'em for sheer entertainment, even if I don't give a flying f**k about the camera you are reviewing. Does it make sense?
nikon d 7100 way better camera and better quality photos
Please do a K-3II review! vs some nikon
I own a Pentax k5iis with several star lenses and limited lenses. I would say the most impressive part is its colour when you shoot in JPG. It is so convenient when you go to travel and take thousands of pictures. Save your time to do the PS job. The all weather seal is also adorable. I can take it to the beach or bushes without any worries about damaging it. However, the only disapppointment is no full frame for Pentax at the moment. The new K1 is expected to be released in the first quater of this year but it's also can be expected that the price would not be cheap(In compare with Canon 6D, 5D3, or sony A7). I'm thinking of switching to Canon but its too hard to let the Pentax go. Its just a too good camera for its price.
I'm still using a K5 - menu system and feel in the hand still have something to offer in terms of usability. Glad I found these old Pentax videos! Thank you.
I'm a Canon User but decided to get the K5 IIs when I moved to Minnesota. Boy so glad I did. I had the camera for eight years now and can't really say anything bad about it except for the flashing LCD when you turn the camera on with the lens cap on. Other than that, through out the years I purchased most L(Limited ) series lenses for it, including the 3 Amigos.
Im gonna get it in 2019 i thought of buying it in 2012 but i will get if now. Its made of sky iron.. i think i deserve it... yes i do!
The live view button is to close to the fourway controller.easy to hit it by accident.
Pentax K5 or Nikon D7000?
thanks for the info.
Those Sony specs you quote are oddball - doesn't do 720p at all & 1440x1080 is useless. I always want the option to do 720p@30fps.The image quality of using MJPEG is better, while taking up more space. On these specs I'd be going for the K5 for video:1920x1080 (16:9 Full HD) at 25 fps1280x720 (16:9) at 30 or 25 fps640x480 (4:3) at 30 or 25 fpsMJPEG .AVI
Thank you! I bought the a57 and just wanted the satisfaction of making the right purchase among all cameras..
Probably. The specs read MPEG-4, AVCHD, H.264 @ 1920 x 1080 (60p, 24p), 1440 x 1080 (30p), 640 x 480 (30 fps) . Seems kind of odd with 1440x1080, but if it can actually do 1080p at 60fps that is good.
is the sony a57 better for video purposes?
Yes, the vast majority of them. You have to watch out for Ricoh's Rikenon-P series lenses (and 3rd party lenses that were designed for that) because they have a pin on the mount that can get caught in the AF drive screw hole. The pin can be removed from the lenses without too much difficult though. M42 lenses require an adapter, but also work fine on the new Pentax DSLRs.
hi. i am thinking of switching to Pentax, but is it true that you can use all Pentax lenses from yester-years for today's Pentax DSLRs?
I want it!! :( Could get it for 900$ with Tamron 17-50 2.8.. but I have only 300$ and my dad doesn't want to pay the rest.. I wanted it as birthday gift and christmas gift :D
Have being a Photographer for 42 years.First as fashion whit my big Pentax 6X7 perfectAfter in the late 80 for sport whit my Canon F1 for the Expo baseball team of Montreal After with F3 Nikon for sport, and landscaping, and weddingIn the 90 Food photography with the amazing lense Carl Zeiss with my Contax RTS II and III Now after a brake of 8 years i am back with my fist lovePentax K7, K5 IIs teaching for many years In Universitythere are build like a tank like my old leica M6
Not sure about the exact time it was under water, but I dropped my whole camera bag, while struggling to not fall into the water myself. Okay, it was more a stream than a river. 2,50m wide and 50cm deep, but I was pretty lucky that one of my companions could grab the bag. Camera works fine. No water inside. Sensor is still clean. Only had to remove some dirt from the outside. But I directly removed the battery, just in case. Another positive test were 5 hours of monsoon rain. No problem at all
Wow... that's quite a feat. I've seen some of the seals in a K-7. They seem to work by high density foam and compression.
K-5 is great. Mine survived a 30 seconds bath in an ice cold Himalaya River.
I would like to, but I don't own a K-30 and don't have access to one.
Thanks for the comment. The K-5 at high ISO is a pretty significant upgrade over the K-7/K-20D, although I still like using my K-7 as a backup.
Very nice presentation. Video clear, and slow enough for the viewer to easily keep up and digest. I have the K5 and so far love it. I also have the K20d and have nothing bad to say about it either. Was the upgrade worth it?, probably not for me, but I had to keep up with the Jones's ya know. Resolution is a bit better, and of course you have the video option, something i rarely use, but it is there. Thank you for your time.
Both wonderful camera
K-5IIs vs K-3what would you choose?
Love the dial lock was always knocking the K-x out of position
Too bad this doesn't come in an F-mount.
How about a cover for the viewfinder? Would be rather useful for very long exposure shooting to prevent light leaks.
People complaining abt Ricoh... without them Pentax as an SLR brand would likely be dead so pull ya head in!
nope, aps c.
is the k3 full frame
This may be your business opportunity to start your own rebadging company. Folks can send the camera in to you and you can then carefully erase the Ricoh name and replace it with Pentax. You'll get rich!
My thoughts after watching+ new AF-ON back button position should be much comfortable+ new four-way button should be easier to use when choosing af point+ new dioptre correction- dial lock switch instead of metering, they should get rid of this dial lock button and leave metering switch as it was on K-5- no dedicated af point selection button+/- there is no need for separate movie button, movie program on exposure dial + shutter release is in my opinion sufficient
@DirectX3 So right
Ricoh is the one killed Pentax, wish Pentax was bought by Sony or Panasonic but Ricoh.
Wish Ricoh logo wasn't present back of K3. Guess we will all have to get used to.....
can't wait to get my hands on the K3!
