I bought a Q from a pawnshop a couple years ago for $30 because they thought it didn’t work. A new charger and it works great. I love this little camera almost as much as my Nikon D7100. Going to hunt down an inexpensive 02 lens, even though I love the 01 Prime that came with it.
I wish I would be able to buy it new nowadays. Really great camera even for today.

I've been watching a lot of reviews lately since I want to buy a camera where I can film and make stills. I wanted something to be able to do both. Actually I wanted to buy a super new camera to make vlogs and nice videos for youtube, and to have it as a travel camera. Now I finally know that I want a Pentax Q7, I LOVE the colors, the comparison video with the Pentax and the Lumix GM1 shows sooo much better colors with the Pentax.
Best fun I have had as a Photographer. Amazing little camera that punches above its weight.
Not sure why Ricoh-Pentax market it as a 'toy'. It surely is a piece of serious kit. Their marketing people has certainly undermined their fantastic team of engineers.
Thanks for the helpful and entertaining review. I've got huge bloke hands myself. Love my Pentax K20 and recently obtained K3. However, think I'm going to save up the funds and get a used Q in the future. Not as my main camera but this would be a great way to always have a camera ready.

I got a Q-S1 and it was fun, I got some vintage Bolex lenses to go with it. Later an Olympus OMD EM10 II was gifted to me and it's amazing. But I find myself wanting to use the Q-S1 more often. The EM10 feels like it's doing all the work, I appreciate the Q making me work for the pictures, it's more satisfying specialy with the vintage C and D mount lenses.
I'm taking my Q to Europe with a couple of lenses and I got warm and fuzzy memories of your videos. Classic Blunty!
Hi Blunty, can you please tell us what BW parameter setting do you use? Like filter, toning, high/low key, contrast, sharpness etc. I struggle to get good BW pics out of my pentax Q. while I could do that easily with my x100t. I'm wondering if you can give me some tips, or better yet, it'd be great if you make a video to talk about your settings! Thanks!
I was wondering Blunty how much work did you put into the still images? I was extremely impressed coming from a Olympus OMD EM1 with the Panny 20 f1.7 and even some Leica glass. Thank you for doing this .very entertaining and I just subscribed because of your insight with this tool.

I personally don't mind carrying my bigger DSLRs.  I picked up a Q today to have fun with ended up getting it in Like New condition for $85 and a Canon EF to Q mount for 22.  I may pick up a couple of Q lenses depending on the price I find, but I want to see how fun this is with my Ziess 21 f/2.8 as well as some of my longer EF lenses like the 85(~475) f/1.2 70-200(~365-1120) f/2.8

Absolutely unable to find the adapter NX to NX mini any where not even in China or India! I ordered the Samsung mini camera waiting for itwould love to get an adapter enabling me to use third party/bigger lenses in it.would the lenses of Q fit in Samsung NX mini?
Haha still love my Q7 in 2020. Like you, I have the 06 on it always. It is my secret tool when I need a day or two to just get inspired. Not to mention adaptation of some macro lens is a hell of fun

I had no interest in the camera but this video was so well done. the compositions were wonderful and that grain is reminiscent of the 35mm days. And the music was spot on as well, you did a really great job :)

I watched this video a year ago and decided to buy a q10. I love it It takes great pictures I have the 02 and 06 lenses but plan to buy all of them.

I have the first Pentax Q. I do not see any reason to find a reason why I should a new camera. I do like it being small.

Who thinks a k5 is still worth it in 2020. For a decent price Have a ks2 but the power button is getting stiff.
On a side note I get really pissed with Pentax and Ricoh they do such interesting stuff the Q the GR the mx1 one even the K One sometimes they just drop the ball the k-50 and the 30 with nightmares every time I see them listed use. Adorama always the same thing mirror lockup failure I think it was they could just get their quality control down
The only gripe I have about this cameras that my 50 Prime the focusing got tight real quick probably got a lemon but I track down another one the other thing about these cameras just got to trust the lenses I also love my mx1 and I actually have a Pentax 110 I have used those little 110 lenses on everything from Sony to the Q those things are amazing
I have mine I still love it it's a lot of fun I don't use it as much because I need to get a new battery how is the number 2 Prime someone has one for sale for like a hundred bucks that's dirt cheap you're a micro 4/3 Channel have you ever messed around with the Kowa 12 mm 1.7. I can get one that is C mount for 160 bucks compared to what they are near that's pretty decent price but is there a difference between the ones they made for the micro 4/3 and the older ones image quality or is it the same formula I assume

I am a cameras nut, I bought hundreds of them. and still haven't been able to find a deal on one. I mean in the last 5 years. I guess I'll have to spend the money. What about the metabones "devil's" speedbooster? When Stanley Kubrick's voice whispers in your ear and tells you to use the full f/0.666, you can't ignore it! Also, does anybody know of any Nikon G/F compatible lenses that are f/1.2 other than the Nikon Noct and 55mm?
