holy fuck. I'm about to buy 2x(Patriot Signature Line Heatspreader 8GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 Dual Rank 1.5v) and I was actually looking on youtube if someone even ever heard about that brand. I never imagined that I'd land on almost a decade-old video of Linus :D Well thank you Linus! I know it's 2020 but my computer is pretty old and limited and while I am very slowly buying better components for future upgrade (Like PSU, Regular SSD, waiting for the 3000x Nvidia release to see old series 2nd hand pricings, etc.) I'm stuck with this old junk of a 16gb max ddr3 without changing the processor and motherboard and I still need it functional to keep working. I can't belive that this was hot at some point lol. But you didn't drop it. so 0/10 video. Cheers

I got this RAM for my i5 3570K, and it works great. I did have a problem with it not booting with 2 sticks, but I was able to fix it. Great RAM so far.
I know exactly what the acronym stands for. And i know exactly what it does. I was just sharing the analogy of how it stores data like the brains short term memory.
and what happens when RAM loses it charge?
Imagine this. You learnt as a child to ride a bike, 5 years later. You briefly forget how to ride the bike, But once you get onto it you get into the groove and your memory (from long term) reminds you of all the things associated with riding the bike. Now that memory is in short term memory, Because you will possibly be riding the bike all of the time.

@dman45945 1.5 is max voltage for sandy bridge ... (u can use higher voltage but u can damage your processor)
@surviveasl too little voltage = wont work well or at all (btw its important not inportent)

I would like to see a benchmark review of the Corsair Dominator Platinums 8Gb kit at 1600Mhz.

warning on OLOy products and customer service . Bought 2 stick of OLOy ram . Brand new . 1 was bad , Called the US OLOY customer support , Had a woman answer the phone ( Hello) . Hear a kid crying in the background. So ask is this OLOy customer support . She said yes . She ask my email and I got an email with a RMA number , Had to pay to ship to CA address . When they got my item they emailed me . We got you ram stick . We will now forward it to CHINA . They will manufacture you another , They will test it and then send one back to you . This will take about 2 months to complete . WTF? I sent email that I was un-satisfied . They will not respond /// They get a C- for product quality .. They get a big fat F for customer service .

Linus did a Memory comparison, and in his video's memory speeds matter...I also watched other vids showing live footage of gameplay, and i've seen 238fps vs 265fps, just from 2133 to 3200...mhz, so i'm not sure how they had a boost in fps that matters, and you didn't.
