Returning to 45mm after switching off is the default setting, but can be altered in the camera menu.

Hi, i'm think about buying a Lumix DMC-G70 with that lens. I want to ask if this zoom lens is good enough for filming sports like american football or soccer on a 20 meters distance from the tribune. At the moment i'm using a Sony Legria Camcorder and that does the job pretty good but the image quality gets really sloppy with the build in zoom. I hope you can help me with my question btw great videos :)
Your posting of all blurry still photos does not bode well for the lens, why would you even do that?
All the pics are out of focus, or just very soft?

Are you still happy with the 45-175?  I'm thinking of replacing my 45-200mm with this and then later picking up the 100-300mm.  I shoot high school sports, both photo and video.

Good time for me to see your video on this lens. I will soon be getting the G 9 camera & I've decided to get the PZ 45 ~ 175 as my beginning / first lens. I now have the Lumix Fz 2500 bridge camera w 24 ~ 480mm internal zoom lens - but only 1 in sensor. Having a leaver that is positioned @ the shutter, which operates the zooming, has been one of it's best features. My left hand was injured at birth & it can't turn the zoom ring. On many Panasonic touch screens is an ability to use the right side of the touch screen to operate the zoom. So as I learn how to use the G 9 I'll have a relatively inexpensive lens with the internal zoom function that I'm used to. I've made a pouch with neck strap & a short mono pole that then screws into my camera - the bottom end of the pole is inserted into the pouch. I can hold this pole with my left hand for stability & move the zoom ring with the little finger of my right hand - but I'd much rather have a power zoom lens. I guess there not that popular or there would be a larger choice to pick from. Again, thanks for this review.

Nice shots. Do you know how well this lens will work with the Lumix G6 and that camera's Zoom Rocker when using the power zoom feature? Is the lens quiet when using the power button or does it make a noise? Thanks.

hi,subscriber renewing his unanswered question here : in the final video,when you do these absolutely stunning long zooming in shots, did you use only the power zoom,or are you walking with camera on a gimbal? or both at the same time? or may be the live cropping 4K mode with ken burns effect in GH4?, i would really apreciate your answer,thanks;
you are a bit strange ! fantastic video at 4'30" but then,what was it,for god's sake? showing the joys of long motorised zooming and panning of that lens? with or without gimbal?
If it is power ois 11 it will work as dual ois with camera and will indicate in veiw finder top right in red dual
Absolutely great filming, was the lens at 45mm all the time?
Do you know if it uses dual image stabilization (with a GX85 camera), or do the stabilizations of the two work separately? If separately, can they both be turned on together?
"The closer the subject, the more depth you get" - you meant the opposite, the closer the subject, the LESS depth you get. BTW, does zooming shift the weight distribution of this lens, i.e. can you zoom on a gimbal?
have you tried to use ND filter on it ?
