I got the g7. It's similar to this but the lens is tiny compared to this thing. This one seems handy too but I'm sticking to the little baby camera for now. It's good quality and super compact.

OK, so I received it and after getting a full charge on the batt. this thing is a MONSTER. The incredible light sensitivity, the vibrant and true colors, and basically the software that controls this machine are outrageous. The buttons and knobs aren't of professional grade, but the zoom -focus wheel on the lens (digital, so endless in either direction) is a real joy to use. I stopped auto-focus immediately, because it is so much more fun to finger this ring thing. I use the zoom lever from under the shutter switch. - it's okay....old fashioned The center image that pops up temporarily in the view finder while you manually focus shows with magnified light and a Neon frizz outline what is perfectly sharp. (most of the time) The time from your ugly face hitting the viewfinder and back to the LCD: really short The Leica lens really makes the camera great, the 2.8 bumps off pretty quick, but the 4.0 is there to stay. At 400 mm you can get steady videos and pics, even after 7pm. I have only scratched the surface for this babe, but in terms of bang for the buck !!!!? ? $500 on Ebay, factory refurbed and shipped with card and pouch, 90 day warranteeee

I just bought an FZ1000 M2 yesterday before seeing this video in May of 2020. And, I agree about DSLRs with interchangeable lenses. I've had many and did change out lenses more than most people but still I had to carry around a heavy backpack with all that glass. The drudgery of having a fancy camera (Nikon D500) with multiple lenses actually turned me off to photography as it almost seemed like work and not fun. I sold all my gear over a year ago and took some time off. But, I've made the decision to jump back in...but with a bridge camera like the Lumix. Thanks for your review.

Please excuse me ,because I'm watching this video over a year after you first recorded it. However, that aside, I'm struggling to think of the point Lumix were trying to make with this camera! From what I can make out, it has pretty much the same features as my FZ330, plus my camera has a 25 - 600mm zoom. What the FZ330 doesn't have of course, is the 1" sensor that this has, so that might make some difference.

If I were to place my wishlist for FZ1000 Mark3 features (should it ever arrive), it would contain: (1) some level of weather sealing, and (2) a dual memory slot, so that I could assign a much more expensive UHS3 memory card to storing video only. However, given the 5 years we had to wait for Mark 2, these wishes might be much outdated by 5 years from now.
The upper limit of 400 mm zoom might not be an astounding value these days, as my pocket-sized Sony HX90V features 30x (750 mm I think). In rea life though, 30x is very difficult to handle handheld. Your breathing, your tension to make a perfect photo, might cause wobbling beyond the capabilites of image stabilization, if not losing your object from viewat all. Therefore I would say 400 mm is a very reasonable limit point and will give you a lot of creative options anyway.
Please suggest me between FZ2500 and FZ1000 II. Though FZ2500 is 3 years old release but still seems to have more features and value for money. Thanks.

Well it beats the crap out of any phone camera. The test is when you crop the images. Even if you use the best phone camera, once you crop x2 the images become worse than useless. With this you can crop x5 and the images are still good enough for social media and small prints.

Awesome review! Do you know the bitrate of the 120fps hfr mode? The FZ2000/2500 has a nice bitrate of 100mbp/s so I’m wondering if the slow motion footage from this camera may possible be limited to 28mbp/s? I was unable to find the bitrate info for high frame rates on Panasonic’s website or in the manual, would love if you could check it out on your camera. Cheers, Joel.
Thanks for the review. Bridge Superzoom Cameras are a good option for people who ant to jump in photography without spend too much money. A bridge offers DSLR/Mirroless features, a bit of wide, a bit of telephoto... enough for beginner to learn photography. No surprise when switch to a M43, APSC, FF... lessons learned. There is a crazy and bad tendency to limit photography => to selfie, self-centrism, selfishness . Taking a photograph is not the same thing as taking a selfie. If I want to watch a video on Havanna, Cuba, 30 mn, =>>> please.... I don't want to watch 30 mn of continuous selfishness... show me the city, the monuments, and tell me the story. People will get bored of putting their face all the time in videos, and photos... Smartphone CAN'T replace a good digital camera with the optics (Lens)... How many cameras you want to put to a smartphone to match a digital camera? 5, 10, 25 cameras? I have a Galaxy Samsung, the Canon 90D, the Canon Rebel SL2 (or 200D) and Canon Powershot SX300 HS... I love My Samsung Galaxy, too bad Samsung dropped the digital camera division... But I can take better photographs with my 1 2/3" sensor. Again photography is not just taking selfies for quick views and likes. A lot of people using smartphones for social medias, can't really see details in a photograph or even tell the difference between a 4K and 1080p video... quick look + like + scroll...
