Dan > Im planning to get the GH5 inspite of the GH5s being just 10% more expensive to this in my country. Mainly for the IBIS. So i have a question, the GH5 IBIS kind of smooths out even pretty large movements ive noticed, not just tremor shake. So does this lead to lag problems when we pan or whip pan etc bec the IBIS takes time to differentiate between a intentional movement and a large shake ?

Hello Dan, I have a question about frame quality options.In my GH5 I have only the options with 24p, not 30 and 60p? Do I have to set something somewhere to have these options as well? MAny thanks in advance!
The problem here is that having watched several of Dan's reviews, I believe that each camera is for me! 😁. I was about to pull the trigger on the Canon 80D but now find myself umming and arring over this one. I am a keen amateur photographer who wishes to get more into video and eventually vlogging/short films. I already have a 4k camera (Panasonic Lumix LX100) but it is quite limited. Any advice...anyone??
I like how people move fast their cameras to test the video or whatever they think they'll see BUT slow motion record ALWAYS! Lame! (plus models also are told to move act in slow motion) Bluh
How would you best shoot something like mountain biking on the GH5 in slow motion if the auto focus tracking is as inconsistent?

Hey Dan, smacking review and it looks dope. I'm in a pickle though. I need something as an all rounder and its got be groovy underwater. This I know you can pre set white balance for so at depth that's essential. From what I read the Sony can't do that so one is scuppered at 30 metres! What I would struggle with is the focus on this and the Sony is very good in that regard. What would be my choices here to get it rock solid? Diving aside, if the auto focus sucks, its not going to be too good at home just messing about with the kids either. What is the work around to get the best from a focus point of view? The Fujifilm x T2 looks pretty nice but as yet untested underwater. This gets so many good reviews; 60FPS on 4K is essential, stability built in is great. Able to set white balance the major requirement. Ropey autofocus though, could be a huge turn off. Difficult....Any thoughts?
Kindly say if we shoot In 4K and downscaling to 1920 x 1080 p , can anyone view in the normal pc or hd tv the edited film?

Good review Dan. I have the Panasonic G80 & FZ330 and simply use single point AF (pinpoint AF is good) for video or switch to manual focus and rely on focus peaking to help me out.

Great review, appreciate its a little dated now. Purchased GH5 in 2019 and it's just fantastic. Will get howled down by many but love the AF - its fabulous and much better than Canon 70d was using before. Using native lenses.

this is an incredible camera, that IS tho. OMG...can't believe this isn't the #1 selling point in itself, it's like a no brainer B-roll machine lol... wow. I mentioned I was looking for a camera to do quasi cinematic video of mountain biking, I've researched quite a few and I think this checks most boxes...

Man by far your video is .most helpful. Quick question, i ask B&h does the s5 has in body stabilization they said no but i see on your video it does? And do it works good like the gh5?
Sony has the best autofocus system. It’s a very nice camera though.
I currently focus on documentary films (on a very lean starting budget; all out of pocket) and my initial canera is the old Panasonic UX-180.... . I am looking at the S5 because the color science is similar, but it can push me closer towards the future..... from 8 bit and beyond. Plus it is a package that I can take on the motorcycle as well as hike with and has the weather resistance that the UX-180 does not have..... for out of the box, I can match the UX-180 with Cin-D mode, or switch to V-Log between primary and B camera..... that is my thinking anyway.

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out if the sensot on the S5 is the exaclty same as on the S1h, do any of you know that? I Know theres the difference with the 6k but you can also record 6k on the s5 externaly. I'm more concerned it the 1080p 120fps is still the same. I read somewhere that the S5 only supports 8bit slow motion but hte S1h supports 10bit up to 150fps and switches then to 8bit for 180fps. Please let me know your exeriences. To me it looks like theres no real need to by the S1h anymore. Only if you need the internal 6k. Thanks!
