Panasonic H-HSA35100E 30-100mm Lens Reviews from YouTube

The Panasonic Lumix 35-100mm f2.8 Zoom Lens Review
Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 II
Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 Dual IS II + GH5 - underrated m43 lens for the GH5/s?
Lumix 35-100mm F4-5.6 –Pocket size TELE zoom
Why do I keep thinking some kind of Monty Python theme will suddenly appear? Maybe because I'm from Can-a-der - eh? lol. Nice review. Thank you.
Would this mount to a black magic pocket cinema 4k?
Im finally able to fetch this lens at a super bargain price. After eatching your video, i wont regret buying it.
To full size equivalent is 70-200mm F 5.6.
I am thinking of either buying a 14-140mm or 35-100mm len. I use it for shooting Calligraphy video, which one do you recommend? Thank you!
completely torn between the 14-140 ii and now the 35-100mm ii. both have more pluses than minuses lol, the 35-100 has the better optics and faster apetures , the 14-140 from usable wide to medium Tele .aaarrrhhhggg
Do you read audiobooks?
I just picked up this lens (Version 1) used recently.. colors and bokeh are nice but detail feels a bit soft, almost like I'm not nailing the focus. Work in progress...
Got this lens recently (Mark II version). Try 68mm, at 1,75m distance F4, suprising excellent for portrait photography (try hold the camera vertically) . Did not expected that from a zoom lens.
Hi David! There is a version 2 of this lens now. Is the version 2 sharper and better than the version 1. I have read that the version 2 of the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 is not as sharp as the version 1.
Thanks for your brilliant reviews and your Lady Model is breathtakingly Beautiful, Congratulations
Hi David. I'm new to photography and feel very fortunate to have stumbled across your channel. I have just acquired a GH4 and have been trolling to find another lens that will cater for my needs. I have made up my mind after this review and have to say, after checking out your channel in general, I will visit here first when my needs (ok..wants) for another lens arise. You keep it honest, straight and to the point. If you don't like it, well, you don't like it and you say so but with the reasons why. You should also consider reading for Audio books or similar. You have a voice and approach that makes me listen. Great job..I thank you!
Great review thinking of buying it. This lens (35-100mm) will fit on the GH5 without an adaptor won't it?
Thanks for this great review. This is perfect lens.
Does the lens’ internal stabilisation works with Olympus cameras?
A full frame 70-200 f 5.6 would be the same size :) When we talk about equivalencies we should convert every figure: 2.8->5.6
Hi David I was reading on mft nerds that this is really good value now second hand (in the £350-£400 range). The world has moved on, but I suspect optically not that far. What do you think paired with my Oly 12-40 2.8? Another informative and helpful video by the way, thanks. Pete
The images are rather soft. Too bad.
These are great reviews you are doing here mate. I’m sure everyone that comes here for the information you are providing is enjoying them as much as I. Well done.
People were complaining about micro jitter on video. Was this mainly hand held? If left still on tripod would it still jitter?
Nice pictures.
many cateyes for an eq.v. f4 bokeh. btw. if you make a fair comparrison, the size of mirrorless lenses mostly are quite similar. for exmaple the sony 70-200 2,8 / 4 vs. nikon/tamron.
It has been a while since your past lens review. Could you tell me the 2-3 favourite lenses for the pana bodies in order? Is it the 12-35 and 35-100 combo maybe with 100-300 on top? Maybe you prefer 15mm 25mm 42.5mm primes? I'm currently sitting at the 12-60 kit, 20mm f1.7 and some vintage lenses for fun but want to expand and I'm not sure what route to go. The 14-140 seems like a great be all lens but it is clearly mostly for outdoors in good lighting. Thanks for the content. Enjoying it greatly
There is a hidden treasure in the Panasonic line up. The Panasonic 35-100/3.5-5.6, the brother of the 12-32. Both of them are plastic fantastic, but are light weight, small and performs superb. You can get those in mint, for less than £ 160, because theyv been sold as kit lenses for a long time.
how good is the weather sealing and build quality in this one compared to olympus 40-150? worth the extra money and weight of the olympus for better sealing and build?
Is it possible to take macro video with it?
Would love to see it compared with Oly 40-150 f/2.8. thanks
A fellow Brummie photographer reviewing this lens?? Wow. I thought of getting it for portraits but eventually got the Sigma 56mm 1.4 ...
Glad to see you looking more into some of the micro four thirds gear, and doubly so name-dropping Emily's channel ^_^ I haven't used the lens myself, but it's on my short list of gear I'd love to get my paws on... I just have to decide if I want it, or Olympus' 40-150mm f2.8, since boy do I love that clutch manual focus mechanism...
The micro jitter workaround was worth the price of the whole video... :p
Please also remember when saying that it is the equivalent field of view of a 70-200mm "full-frame" lens that f/2.8 on a m43 body is the 'equivalent' of f/5.6 on a 35mm sensor camera...
I just placed an order to rent this lens for a wedding this weekend. Your demo shots have me real excited now! I only ordered based on the specs so it's good to see some great shots come out of it.
I bought version 1 used and love it. Sharper than my 70-200 f4 L and much lighter.
Great vídeo and sound choices!
Helpful video thanks. subscribed
Oh hell no. Those microjitters are a deal breaker. Way to bog down your workflow. Great review by the way. Glad I found out about it.
7:14 That micro-jitter seems to have some jello after stabilization in post, or is it just me
I have the Panasonic 35-100 ii and can assure all that it has no "micro jitters". Interesting that you are the only one saying it. It's a fantastic lens and I would buy it again.
what lens did you film your talking head shots with?
Yes it is underrated! Such a great video! Thanks for sharing!
It has been a while since your past lens review. Could you tell me the 2-3 favourite lenses for the pana bodies in order? Is it the 12-35 and 35-100 combo maybe with 100-300 on top? Could this lens work for the LUMIX G7?
I assume if you were on a tripod at 100mm with OIS off there would be no micro jitters?
Sir I have gh5 and Panasonic lenses like 12-25(2.8), 35-100(2.8) and 25 (1.7) . I would like to use booster so that enable me full frame ability. Please suggest best supporting booster for GH5 and Panasonic Lumix lenses
Great video ! This lens gives the Bokeh that I miss with other lenses. Regarding the micro jitter, would using a gimbal be the solution ? Or always fix it in post ? Thx for this info !
Just got the older version of this lens (H-HS35100) along with 5 other M43 lenses I just bought used, including the Leica 25mm 1.4 and Leica 42.5mm 1.2... the 35-100mm was probably the biggest surprise out of the bunch, the constant aperture makes it a real treat.
#538 sub here mate. Love how you edited and filmed and generally produced a great review video here it looks like a good lens I’ll need to consider buying. I recently purchased and received my GH5 And just surfing YouTube to find out all about its capabilities. Cheers from a newbie photographer in wild West Australia
Is this a review or a demo reel? lol.
The 2nd lens I bought after buying the 12-35 mm 2.8. I think this is a great travel lens combo
Hi Matti I don’t think that I have thanked you for pointing me in the direction of this gem of a lens. I was lucky to find one at a reasonable price and I am really impressed with the results coupled with an omd em10 mk2. It’s such a compact lens just what I’ve been searching for . Your videos are inspiring...hope to see you and Peter again soon here on one of your photo challenges.
I want one! Not because I need the focal range, but just cuz it's so damn cute!
I found a eBay deal for this lens and based on YOUR review I went for it! The lens came in today and still can't get over the size! I don't believe I have ever had a lens of this focal length that was so so small! I love it! I will write back when I have taken it out on a portrait session... Thanks for such a helpful review!
Thank you for another excellent video!
Hi can i use this lens with an Olympus Pen E-PL10 camera please? I wanted something with a bit better zoom than the pancake kit lens that came with the Pen 10 but small like this one. Also i am no good at mm so how far would you say id be able to zoom? Like a camera with a lens attached has like 20x zoom or 30x zoom etc?
Hello Matti...i want to buy a telephoto lens, and get some bokeh effect ocasionally for portrait with good sharpness if its possible...wich one would you choose between these two options in your experience: a)35-100mm f4-5.6 with mega ois b)45-200mm f4-5.6 (versión I) with mega ois My camera is a lumix G7.
i prefer my 14-140 any day over this lense its much more versatile because of the wide angle and it has the same 3.5-5-6. not as small as this one but small enough and very lightweight for what it does
Lovely video
I can only reiterate what a cracking lens this is for the money. I managed to buy it new last year for just £120 and it performs well beyond what one might reasonably expect. Absolutely pin sharp at full aperture, producing really punchy images. Whilst not weather sealed, it is claimed by Panasonic to be splash proof, though I have never put this to the test. It is ridiculously compact, especially given the number of lens elements it contains, and is one of my favourite lenses for sure.
Got this lens included in the double lens kit with the GX80 (or GX7 MkII as it's called in Japan which is where I bought it) for a total of about 600 USD in late 2018. Very nice lens and quite sharp, I use it for plane-spotting.
I have a silver one to match my GX7
I love this lens with my Olympus PenF. Together with a Lumix 15mm F:1,7 it is a killer combo for street photo that doesn't break your neck - or the bank. I was only considering the 2,8 version until I read all the positive comments about this (miniature 70-200mm) zoom. Glad I chose small over F:2,8
Seems like a decent shooter -- will look for discounts -- $395 is not bad though. I already have the 45-150mm, which looks good in the 45 to 100 range.
Thanks for your interesting and competent videos. What do you think of the Panasonic 14-140 mm?
I find your Video very helpful Matti. I'm interestet in this Lens also. I dont need to expensive lenses. Greetings Frankie!
I like music in this video )) Matti, could you compare this lens and Lumix 35-100 2.8?
Kiitos for another very useful and to the point review!
Hi Mr. Sulantro, thanks for your cool videos. I’m a new to photography and started with Lumix MFT. May I ask what is the most practical (small size, sharp and low light capable) tetelezoom lens which can be used for wildlife photography (say a subject 20 to 50 meters away). Thank you very much and good day!
Hi Matti, you have any plans to review the F 2.8 35-100 mm lens . Like to hear your views on this lens
i agree completely . I have this lens . It makes a lot of sense on a older non ibis body like my G6 and its 14-42 mkII that shares the 46mm filter size . It is also good enough for a small modern body like my Gx9 . That said, even if sometimes it is nice to have such a tiny tele zoom lens , there are several small excellent primes within or close to the focal range that are a big reason to be in M43 like the 25mm f1.8, 1.7 and 1.4 , the 45mm f1.8 and 42.5mm f1.7 and the 60mm f2.8s . Still, at 100mm , it's a unique way of getting good results in a tiny package.
