I would like to know what it takes to record with that audio quality.
They are pretty decent overall, I think. It seems like the crash had no real sustain though. Could it be tightened down too much?
Unbeatable value for mpney cymbal! I've even used this for independent recording and the sound is almost the same with the cymbals 5 times more expensive than this PST-3!! Unbelievable. Thank you Paiste!
With the 13 and 14 inch high hats if you take the bottom hat and put it on the top it's way more crisp and it sounds 10 times as expensive it's ridiculous how good it is for the money
These are considered budget cymbals but they sound freaking awesome! I used to own the PST 3 Hi-hats. Loved them then and now!

I bought these to go with a budget Pearl Roadshow kit set up as the house kit in my jam room. For the money they sound great. The drummers that have played them are amazed at the sound- these are guys that have rigs where one cymbal is worth twice this entire pack. Not a lot of options in this price range BTB and Zildjian make cheapies- went with these based on this video, and the extra 16inch cymbal. Don't sound like bin lids that's for sure. I am going to post a demo with these and the Roadshow, when I can get one of the lads to bash away.

i see a lot guys going 'oh, these suck and those suck', when really they should be saying 'i'm really grateful that some of the top cymbal makers in the world would do something like this for drummers everywhere'. but no, everyone just wants to be a dick. i think it's gross how ungrateful people can be who don't happen to need something like this. i'm fortunate to be able to buy almost anything i want, but that wasn't always true. this stuff didn't exist when i first started playing as a young kid or when i was a teenager and had to find ways to afford gear. people should just be grateful. oh, the PST3s aren't 'good enough'? really? i'll bet if someone came to your house and took all your gear, and the next day you were given a set of PST3s, you'd rethink that shit in a fucking hurry. be grateful if and when you need them, and things like them, and be glad for those who do even if/when you don't. and by the way, it's not even really that they're 'cheap', it's more just that's what brass sounds like. we should all be so lucky to have it when we need it

I would love to do a sound test with a bunch of self-proclaimed “golden ears” when it comes to cymbals, hi hats especially. I bet their responses would be all over the place and they would realize that they can’t discern cheap from expensive nearly as easily as they thought they could, or maybe not at all. I think good miking and recording make a lot of difference in equalizing cheap vs expensive.

Zildjian sounded better but with such a huge price difference I’d have to say the difference wasn’t big enough for me to justify the extra money. Now if I had a bunch of money I suppose why not but the paiste sound great considering the such low price and definitely effective enough to get the job done

Got both pst3 and k darks. Even my parents can tell the difference and think the k's are far better!
You take so damn long to hit it after switching, that I can't remember exactly how the last one sounded anymore.
This video is horrible but good at the same time. It's horrible because your comparing Paiste's lower end cymbal to a higher end Zildjian cymbal. Totally biased video here. You should of compared those Zildjians to Paiste Signatures. As for good it shows that the PST3 Cymbals can sound pretty good even though it's Paiste's lower end cymbal. Try Comparing A Zbt with PST3 and see which sounds better!

I think...in isolation at least...the K hats beats the Paiste hats hands down. The Paiste hats had a clangy metallic sound when opened whereas the K's were smooth as silk. That said, the difference between the rides was more subtle...with the K still sounding smoother. But the Paiste wasn't bad sounding at all.
Zildjian all the way...... but the regular Ks are better than the customs

Usually a paiste guy but you can easily hear that the zildjians are better. The paistes sound fine but they neither have the sustain nor the dynamics of an expensive cymbal. (Like a good old 2002;))

Great drumming. Don't know but I thought that the Paiste had better stick definition but drumming has made me deaf.
