Bought a Jackson JS1X minion recently, and it's a lot of crap for such a small guitar. The workmanship is absolutely terrible and quality control is non-existant. Mine came with a nut slot that was sawn incorrect, resulting in fretbuzz on the highest strings, even with the ridiculously high action the guitar came with. The neck pocket is really sloppy and the bridge is misaligned. It doesn't keep in tune for more than a minute. It's completely worthless and unusable as a guitar. Painfull to see a great brand like jackson going down the drain.
I'm not a kid. I'm an old guy (50) and I bought one of these to play in my little condo in Thailand. Perfect.

I just received a RR Minion today. I've been testing it out and love it except for one thing.compared to the Epiphone Les Paul I'm coming from, there is a huge amount of ground noise until I touch my palm the strings or the bridge. Do you find this to be normal for the Minion, or should I request a replacement?
I was really hoping to hear some advice about these as travel guitars for adults. Thoughts?
Grabbed the neon green one for my son yesterday. After playing it I will tell all of you this before handing it off to the kiddo. Set up the intonation on this guitar, make sure the string alignment is proper and FILE THOSE FRETS! I was really surprised at how sharp they were (until I remember it is a $150 china made twang noodle). So again file and sand frets so they don’t cut up the little ones hands, intonation set so it sounds good, and string alignment so it doesn’t feel odd. Do all this to make it more enjoyable for you or you kids. A instrument that feels nice and plays nice is utilized more.
I'm really thinking about picking up one of these little guys. I have a really bad back. So one of these will come in handy.
