How useless. You put a video on the features and instead of going through all the features you only feature ones you use. You said TTL - BUT YOU DO NOT USE IT so you ignore it. don't do a video on features and ignore features you do not use. SOME OF US DO. A WAIST OF TIME
Excellent! Thanks so much for the video and the replies.
Manual says this flash has a FP TTLAUTO ( Super Flash. can't seem to get to this setting with the mode dial?
Would this be a good flash to use on a PEN f?
Worst flash ever! I got brand new, after 1 month, dead! It's Ok, still warranty time, got new one! After 3 months, dead! That's it! I threw away and get i40! Sicked of it!
I put my Fl-600r flash in M for my video light and put in in RC mode. When I do that, my video light blinks very few seconds. Is suppose to do that Jim, Charlotte, NC.
Whats the fastest shutter speed you can use with this flash?
Doesn't the zoom of the lens zoom the flash? Gosh, Minolta had this feature 20 years ago!
I have 3 of them used since 2012, they are broken with fallout even from 20cm with his bag, the battery door break too easily They are too expensive
Where did you get the diffuser that's installed on the flash units?
Hola Jimmy - would love to see you give some advice on flash photography - a real gap in my knowledge
Excelent video man, Zoha also is a funny nice girl, good company. Grettings from Argentina and thanks a lot for your great videos! Godox t350 could be a good alternative?
I still use my Olympus FL-36R flash :-)
I agree that a 30-m wireless range should be more than enough for almost all situations. The only application I can think of where a longer range would be useful would be photographing large rooms in caves. I have seen a few photos in books and on the Internet of large cave rooms where it was obvious that multiple light sources at large distances were used to light the room. I suspect the lighting was achieved with a combination of lamps and flashes.
Distances longer than 30m are often used in sports photography. Flashes are strategically set around the playground, along the courses or the tracks, and then triggered from a distance (often to provide backlighting). In Nordic sports disciplines, spectators must be aware of this, because flashes set for the official photographers may interfere for casual snaps and with snow reflection, produce nasty surprises.
Oh wow Flash oh sorry i could not control myself hahaha stay safe and looks so good
May you please do a tutorial video on how u do focus well using the olympus omd em 10 or em 5 older versions of omd camera ? As i do notice the focusing can be abit off at times. Thanks Pal.
Nice video again. Another olympus support from Singapore bro
Don't forget the Nissin System! High quality wireless system fully compatible with 4/3 and even TTL-wireless compatible. The flashes are of professional quality and are very powerful.
Dang bro, you lost a lot of weight at the end. How did you do that?!
Good product review.I think a lot of Olympus shooters will find this informative. I thought Zoha was a great cohost for your video.bring her back. I noticed you just shot with a flash on a tripod with the plastic diffuser and a few shots with a second flash hand held. I've always stayed away from OCF because I feel like I would need a reflector or it looks like I need to get a little braver and use these little flashes a bit more. For me, I'm on the Godox system as I shoot Sony APS-C. Any tips on using these flashes without reflectors?
I like her : ) Keep her coming~
Can you give us a bit more sample-pictures. In the video there are not many.
Red! all the models you showcase are so hot how do you do it?
PLEASE KEEP ZOHA on this show You can tell she knows what she is talking about with photography and not just a random model who agrees with everything and not having her own opinion. Keeps it more AUTHENTIC. Great video though!
I'm a long time viewer of your channel, but probably not too long, because I see Zoha for the first time and I'm really impressed, what a beautiful charming girl. About the FL700 WR looks like a really promising model, very compact, but I wish this one or a future model to be with BLH-1 battery for faster recycle time and can even adopt USB-C charging on it.
I use the Godox V860ii and I am still learning how to use it.
Very expensive system when compared to the likes of Godox. WR is nice, but it's not worth hundreds more
Last time I took a flash photo I was using bulbs! Just dont use flash at all, just more stuff to carry around. Well maybe next week something I use he he
Excellent explanations and demonstrations on how to use this flash. Thank you.
Thanks for this clear explanation.
Thanks for the demo. My flash head lifts up no problem but stubbornly refuses to rotate. It seems jammed. Any suggestions?
Using Metz 52 Oly + Pana + Leica it is driving me Mad.
Have you any solution
Hi Paul, very nice video. I`m going through all the steps and it works really fine. But I'm stucked because (and maybe is a silly question).how can I go back to the RC menu to setup the flash to manual mode? so sorry but I can´t ! thanks in advance !
Although I thought it seemed like it was going to be too long to watch through, you certainly explained some of the features that I have yet to get a good explanation on the proper use. Would love to know one thing when using RC mode, is there a way to turn off the annoying LED strobe? I noticed in the video, it was doing the same and I am guessing it is what it is.
i give up .almost.i cant even get the flash to go off now
im using RC . but i dont want to use the on flash on camera. can i turn it off some how ?
Many thanks Paul, I've just bought the Metz 64 AF-1 for my E-M1 set up, so found this very useful Cheers
This flash has infrared light to af ?
hi, thanks for the video. Can you tell if the Metz or the olympus can achieve high speed sync faster the 1/160s? Say sbout 1/8000s?
Thanks for the video, i just got mine and your video helped a lot!
Lots of great info, thanks Paul
well done
Very informative, thank you Paul.
Robin, FANTASTIC! Agree with you 100+1% It is brilliant things from Olympus. When I saw it for first time, when I opened box, I was surprised. Why? What is it? In few minutes I realized how excellent this tiny thing. I do not use flash a lot, I very very rare used built-in flash on other cameras (even if it had it). So lack of flash on Olympus body was good for me at the same time, having few extra grams in my bag with ability to bounce it from celling, use it as commander for big brothers and carry NO extra battery is blessing. Rotating, Tilting, Fully controllable and 50 grams! Thanks a lot for video!
Excellent video. It's a great little flash and you can move it off camera with a cord made by JJC. I have made a bracket that allows it to sit on the lens hood of the Oly 60mm macro so that you can use it for 1:1 macro (or greater with rings, teleconverter, accessory lens). A guy on DPReview pointed out that the little plastic butter containers that you get in restaurants are a push fit and make a good diffuser! It was genius for Oly to put a 4th power contact on the hotshoe enabling the unit to be so tiny. My whole macro flash setup lens, flash and diffuser now weighs half what it used to!
Can I use it on my OM10 mark lll
hi Robin, could you tell what extern olympus flash could be used?
How come am just seeing this ,I love this Flash. I think I will look into this .
Thanks Robin,you're the best
I dont understand why camera companies don't put a swivel pivot on their in-body camera flashes so we can bounce flash without our original kit purchase. It would be a great selling point if a company would just do it.
Really useful! Thanks a lot from Belarus!
Love the videos! Is there anything similar for the new E-M10 IV? Really hoping for a small flash with tilt/swivel, but not finding much success online. Thanks!
Good video with some useful tips. Thanks Robin.
can apply on EPL series?
Does it work with the E-M1 (first model)?
Hi Robin, you mention that the flash is also compatible with the omd-e1-Mark III: I imagine that you are sure, because on all buy-websites it is mentioned that is only compatible with the mark2.
Is flash enough to take pictures in the evening? (in a nightclub). It would be used with the em1 mark III
Is the Flash FL-LM3 perfectly compatible with the EM1 mark III? Could you make a video comparing your photos with or without flash (with em1 mark III)?
Nice video. Makes me think to buy this one.
Hi, Robin do you know, why my flash suddenly doesn’t fire although my camera recognized the flash? Thanks for help.
Will this work on em10mk iv Robin?
Robin, is this flash compatible with OMD EM10?
Hi Robin, good day to you. May i know what is the best tips and setting to shot with this tiny flash? Appreciate on your video tutorial
Got the FL-LM3 the other day for my E-M10 II after having seen this video and your blog post. I have the original FL-50 for my trusted and still perfectly functioning E-1 from 2003, which by the way also works fine with both my E-M10 and E-M10 II. But for many occasions it is too big to carry around unless the situation really calls for it, besides looking and feeling quite disproportional on top of an E-M10. This little guy is indeed amazing in its refined simplicity and the perfect fill-in flash with its swiveling head. I have now tried it for a couple of days and it was love at first sight. Thank you Robin, and greetings from Sweden!
