There is a mirror! Just slide the colors over to the right there's a sponge brush and mirror inside
No problem, I have all three Golden Thoughts is the only one that doesn't need to be applied wet to show up to there true colors also with all of them I wear a primer then I take color tattoo in a nude shade and put that under the shadow it really will make the colors pop. I love NYX stuff too I never really have problems with there shadows. But I have noticed any baked eyeshadow from any company always comes up sheer and doesn't give the true color in the pan on the eyes, but I love nyx so much I HAD to get them!
With baked eyeshadow you have to wear them wet when your applying it.
Thanks for sharing girl! I haven't tried any NYX palette yet but this review helped me know more about this palette and 14 dollars is not bad. Thanks for sharing 😊
You should try the one in golden horizons I love it and use it everyday.
Wish I saw this before buying. This is a horrible palette, mine clumps, and falls off. The colors or too soft, so layering just makes it worse because it clumps.
Thanks for the honest review! I also have the dream catcher pallette in Golden Horizons. I find the colors difficult to work with and not very pigmented at all.
It's a baked eyeshadow. Did you use it after wetting?
i love how it looks on me it looks good on anyone any skin tone thats what i love about it
i have this palette my cousin got it for me i have only used it once and really like it soo far
I bought this palette on a whim while I was at Nordstrom Rack since it looked pretty and seemed like it had a nice range of shades, and I wish I'd seen this review before doing that. Can't return it now that I've used it. But so many of the shades look similar, there's a ton of fallout, and not a ton of pigment. I personally wouldn't recommend this palette either.
looking for a good eyeshadow palette below $15
I just got the Golden Horizons version. I adore the gold shade and like a couple of the browns but found it really muddy when blended and the pigmentation was lost. I then tried it with a wet brush and a more defined zone eye look and it looks pretty good but probably just normal drugstore palette standard not amazing! Overall disappointing, here in Australia it was $39 which is a complete rip off! Lucky the packaging is so cute!
So glad it wasnt just me. THIS PALETTE SUCKS!! Dont waste your money 😊
I have that & found a secret mirror compartment! You have to slide the pallet to the right.
I get a lot of fall out and hardly any pigment
I have stormy skies, I got so frustrated the first time from the shadows getting muddied together that I used my fingers to actually get a perfect blend and a *mediocre* color payoff. waste of money.
I've had this palette for a YEAR and I use 3 colors in it. I just found out it slides and there's a mirror and blendy spongey brush thingy with it!!! I had no idea.
$15!? It's about $10 at my grocery store and I can't still bring myself to buy it :(
I just by this palette in Québec today and the shadow are very cremy and soft. Like it.
There is a slide out mirror in this palate
I agree with you. I bought it to keep at work so when I go in early, I have eyeshadow to do my make up. I figured for 15 bucks they would be good. Uh, no. I really wish I wouldn't have gotten it. Now I'm just trying to learn to work with it.
I purchased this palette and was a little disappointed. The shadows are not pigmented at all.
I totally agree! I bought this palette at urban outfitters and as far as i can tell it's nothing special. It's okay but not something worth re-purchasing.
So glad I looked this up. I've been looking at this pallet because those are exactly the nude shades I like--champagnes and golds but mostly darker, richer shades. But I guess the hunt for the perfect pallet continues. If all else fails, I'll probably end up getting the Balm Nude Tude pallet.
I had no idea it had that secret compartment...I’ve gotta go check all my other pallets ...
I have the same pallet but the shades are in different places so I went on the website and found out that mine is right I think your pallet is fake sis
is it just me or did you have the palette and not know about the sliding panel and you where completely shook!
Omg thank you, because of you I discovered the mirror and the brush 💖
I have this palette and it's great. She barely puts any product on the brush and then taps off what little she put on there. It's not the palette that's the problem, it's the way she applied it.
OK love this palette not sure why wet did not work for when I added just the smallest amount of our trusty old Vaseline the colors just popped and stayed on for ever otherwise I love that you show what brush to use
I actually saw these palettes & bought the same one you did & in another color, then saw your review & another reviewer say pretty much the same thing about the quality of the shadows, so I returned my two (got 1 @ reg.price & 1 1/2 off) & got the NYX "Go to Palettes" in the two color groups they come in, both have gotten good reviews.
Thanks for saving me having to try & be disappointed as I'm not familiar w/th the brand. Such a shame as both palettes looked so good, & had a lot of golds, & bronzes that I was looking for. so sad. love your channel ( I just turned 56 so you're a great help for ladies my age! xoxo Look forward to more reviews & advice! btw a belated "Happy New Year" to you & yours!
I used this pallete with the nyx eyeshadow base and it was well pigmited and blended great for me
The thumbnail! 😂😂😂
I've gotten a totally different affect with this palette... I actually love it..
What store do they sell NYX at??? I have not seen them anywhere! This Dream Catcher Palette looks beautiful! Love the colors on you Angie!
This is too funny. Like you, I hesitated several times before purchasing one of these palettes, and now I'm also struggling with application and color payoff. What I *didn't* know was that the palette slid open to reveal the mirror and sponge applicator! Thanks for that...I wish I'd seen the video before buying it. I love most NYX shadows, but not this set!
Have you ever done a review about your favorite high and low end eyeshadow brushes? I would be very interested to hear your opinion. :o)
The palette, not your look. :)
I think that "orange" is copper :)
Really that palette looks so pretty. I wouldn't like more color pay off too. Thanks for you honest review.
Angie, in regard to a sunscreen for the face, I just purchased MD Solar Sciences Mineral Tinted Crème, SPF 30 UVA-UVB Sunscreen. I have worn it a couple of days, and I believe I am going to like this one. You might want to check it out if you haven't already tried it.
Hi Angie, great review, thanks! The golden orange would look nice right next to your lashes on your upper eyelid, because it would highlight your lashes and eye colour, due to the colour contrast. I know you tend to be more into pinks and plums, but I'm sure peachy colours can look good on you too. Of course it depends on what colour clothes you are wearing, but If you combined the orange with the plum shadow on the palette it would look edgy and cool.
Hey Angie.........thanks for the heads up with this palette, not sure if it is for me, but I appreciate your honesty with this tutorial.
Aren't all domed products "baked"? Which means you have to use them wet for the pigmentation to show? That's what I always heard...
I can't see any color on your eyes . I do have the one pallette in different colors. I find they work well I only used it once though.
I love how your using other motions on how to use a brush on mature eyes ;) I wanted to give my momma a makeover, this is purrrfect :)!! thanx
nice review! I was looking at these palettes & am considering the Butter London "Shadow Clutch" palette & shadow duo's I've seen such great reviews on & the Too Faced "Chocolate Bar & Semi-Sweet" palette's (possibly the UD Smokey & Naked (1) palettes.
Do you think the naked palettes are worth the $54 dollar price tag? & could you recommend shadow primer & under eye concealer for mature eyes (56 yrs)? I just have some fine lines & puffiness, lite drk circles. BM Bare skin concealer, or UD Naked Skin maybe? (never used either). I'm a golden medium skin tone btw.
Great video and application. Love that look. Very pretty on u. Would love to see more tutorials from that pallet. Think I could adjust my colors in the one I got. I think mine r darker. Kinda wish I had gotten that one after seeing u do that. Think they only had two when I bought mine. Not sure they had that one. But I have brown hooded eyes. I was seeing a lot if smokey eyes when I bought it. But I try to remember to shade that hood. To recede it. They r pretty noticeable to me anyway. But I notice more ppl with them and always check out the way they do their eyes think that's how I found u under that title of hooded eyes a while back. Thanks again and for all ur hard work. Off to watch some more u have.
Loved this look on you!! You really suit those shades!! Its so hard to find nyx cosmetics here in the uk!!! Grt vid. Xx
Love! I've been a little nervous about working some satin eye shadows back into my matte look, but since Hot and Flash says it's okay I'm going to do it! :-) I love the Loreal highlighter pencil. I'm going to look for that. AND, have you seen the Smashbox Always Sharp pencils? They put a new point on every time the lid is screwed all the way on. Super Fab! Thanks - as always, a beautiful, thoughtful tutorial!
Loved this! As a 47 yo former sun loving girl..I have a hard time getting my shadow to look smooth and pretty. I've given up on trying liner on top lids! This was a look I may could do. Wish I could get the skin a tad firmer. Any ideas?
Whats the diff from matt ?
Wow you do an amazing job disguising hooded eyes. Fantastic. One Q though. How would you use the darker colors of shadow? Can you do a tutorial using more dramatic colors for day time or evening. I would love to see how you do that. Thanks so much for your wonderful videos.
Excellent tip with applying eyeshadow to more mature eyelids, thank you!
Really enjoyed your tutorial I swear Angie you don't do enough of these...the look turned out so pretty very wearable, loved it!! I hope to see this nice palette in store soon will watch for it. Look forward to you maybe doing more looks with it?? Hugs xo Denise
Love the shadows and application! I always have to use a smudger to go over my liner. I use a similar shade of shadow and it not only softens the line, but sets the liner, as I'm someone who liner (even waterproof and 24 hour ones) never lasts on with a shadow on top to set it. Thanks for your great tutorials. :)
Angie. I also wanted to add I have deep set in eyes.it seems when I put the darker color for the "faux" crease line it makes my eyes look deeper then what they are.Any suggestions on how I can solve the problem? TIA!
That was a very pretty soft look. :)
Very pretty and flattering look on you! :o)
Great tutorial Angie. Lovely palette. Seems very wearable. I have hooded eyes and find it hard vary my look. Cant wait to try this! You look amazing! xoxo Daphne
Beautiful, just beautiful. You really have such a nice touch applying and blending your eyeshadows. You do a terrific job and it just look gorgeous. Thanks so much for showing this! Much love, Melissa
I really love the combination of colors you used and yet looked simple, elegante and not overly done. You look amazing! !
Angie, I really enjoyed this video!! I have a different NYX palette, but same enough!! I used your method and the look came out beautifully!! I agree with you that it is kind of nice that these shadows are buildable instead of bam pigment!! It was fun to recreate!! Thanks for sharing!!
Best Wishes My Darling
