I have a brand new Nokia battery it says in black text Nokia on the front and on the back to the BL name and it was sold to fit with my Nokia 6300, how do I know if its real or fake? and is it dangous to use?
My experiences with knockoffs so far: They have Holograms like real deal. Also not using that default fallback Chinese/Japanese based monospace font. They uses the real monospace font like the real one. The difference is that the serial no. on top the hologram. With lazy printing, it looks really bad that you can spot it out. Also, it has the blue stamp with (CY) markings on the back (Chinese always doing this). Another spot that you can see if it's fake or not is the model's name font in front of the battery. For example: My battery is BL-5C, but I guess they only got the 4C model pdf or image so they quickly edit number 5 in there with Arial font in Photoshop or something Other variant I've seen floating around since 2015s is that either one of these battery will have some sort of a pull tab to easily pull out the battery. Pretty neat in my opinion. The worst faked one you can easily spot out is the cover and the housing of the internal battery. Just tear the cover of the battery out. You'll see that it has a housing surrounded by the battery and it can easily torn off if you're not be careful. The real one only have the housing for the visible terminals on top and that's all. Finally, darker cover colors since it was probably scanned and printed with crappy materials.

No mate. I have just bought two with no holograms at all. The supplier swears they are genuine but Nokia couldn't tell me if they were genuine or not. I asked if they were shipping genuine batteries without a hologram and they would not give me a straight answer!
