Great video of my exact problem in exactly the same camera - was a speck of fungus in my case in Tropical Brisbane Australia. With a decent set of screwdrivers from Jaycar - for $20, undid all the screws successfully. Agree don't use the $2 sets from K-Mart or Reject Shop etc. Not a fine enough point on them. So have returned my Fuji Finepix HS30EXR to good working order when would have otherwise had to ditch it & buy another similar camera. A verbal quote from Ted's Camera Store locally to fix it would have been $300 to $400 - more than a 6 year old camera is worth. Thanks again Khan Family for a great video
I have the same problem before with the same unit HS30EXR, I spent my hard earned savings to send the unit to the authorized center to clean the dust accumulated in the lens. It's been years now, then another small dust appears n the same lens, and I think I will try this tutorial to save my hard earned savings. Fujifilm HS30 has been with me since August 2012 with lots of stunning photos captured.

Yup, I've managed to get sand under my on/off switch just as you advise not to. I was hoping to see a solution here but looks like I'm out of luck!

I've had this camera since its release in 2011. It's now 2018 and, with the latest firmware update, it performs even better now than it did when it came out of the box.
Do not buy Fuji cameras. My lasted two years only. Don't even think about fixing it - the price is the same amount of a new one.I really regretted buying Fuji.

Watching it again in 2016, I still love this review. It's those times that Kai did not approach a retro-styled camera as "well, here we have another retro-styled camera" It was before Olympus OM-D's, Nikon Df, etc. It was the camera that started it all. Still great.
