Nice camera, im thinking of buying one, those the lens fog up with with wind or water? is the zoom only digital while recording?
When is a new one being released?
i have it
Is there video stabilization and wifi and bluetooth....
I recently purchased one and found out that, ig you want to shoot in any advanced mode, you’d better read the 300-page user manual. I’ve been in photography for 6o years and have 3 other Nikon SLRs FX and DX which took no time to master. It’s damn maddening when uou get all set up for a nice cideo sequence, to have the camera stop after a 10 second clip. I also find that the flash has very limited reach. So far, I use it as a snapshot camera, despite all of the features and I phone that my phone is just as good. My wish is to “grow” in this $500 toy, if I ever find time to read the 300 pages of the advanced manual
The Nikon has a 25 seconds slow shutter speed where as the Fuji only goes down to 4 seconds.
Used this for our field work. It works pretty well.
I really want it to have a housing for W300 camera. Even you can bring it under for the deep down 30 Metres, But the housing can extend the life time of the camera. My previous aw130 died after 20M dive in Andaman sea. It worked well underwater but I found a little amount of water leaked into the screen after I went up to the surface. It must be better if I had a housing to use in that dive.
I have this camera. How did you get it to work? Every time I use the timelapse function, it just says "saving" until the battery is exhausted. Then, the files are invalid.
my nikon aw 130 just died in the caribbean i am not sure what killed it ha ha ha i was shooting in the ocean 87f and the air 89 f now looking to replace it and most of the cameras come up short on either the mega pixels or no gps or wifi or some other things missing this camera has all and then some more so i will wait for the sales to come this fall and get it richard in the tropics
I think the most useful feature is you can bring the camera to 30m deep underwater without the hassle of high-end camera with a waterproof casing. As a casual diver, I love to bring this camera along just to take few pictures underwater
this camera is fantastic and has many features that none of the of the other cameras have
hello, thanks a lot for the video. I am interested in printing image bacause I am a fine art artist. do you know what is the largest size i can print with this camera? thanks again tamara
Searching for help.
Nikon w300 main PCB board, failure after 40 times use, one year after bought. I recognise the problem 2 days after warranty expiration date, and last successful use was 18 days before.
2nd of April 2018 (bought) until 16th of March 2019 works perfect. At 5th of April 2019 the Greek service inspect an unexpectable failure to the main PCB.
They ask half of the price to repair. No water no uses problem they said. Is this a factory failure or Nikon w300 has an expiration date? Please help.

Cómo es el estabilizador al grabar ? Se mueve mucho al caminar y grabar
is there any mode that lets you control shutter speeds?
Great video! I'm thinking of getting this camera to take on a cruise to the Caribbean and to take snorkeling. Do you think this would be a good choice? Or go with something different?
I am interested in buying this camera but you have to charge the battery inside of the camera? Is that correct? Is there anyway you can take the battery out of the camera and charge it?
Bro! I miss your videos. Cuando sale algo nuevo?
i'm stuck between this or the Lumix ts7. I've owned a ts1 and currently own a ts3, but i'm really liking the specs of the nikon cameras
does this camera film only for 20 min and then it stops?
Thanks for the test I’ve been looking for a waterproof camera to use on a yacht that produces decent video and stills .
This looks like a good possibility without breaking the bank.
Unfortunately this camera don't support RAW. while the predecessor Nikon AW1 does. Missed change... :-(
Nice video, Here's the 300 vs GoPro 5 at night https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDWCAy0EMHw
Hi again! I recently purchased this camera.
When the camera is turned off and you (gently) shake it, it produces a rattling noise from inside it. However, when you turn it on, the rattle disappears. Does yours make that too?
Excellent review, exactly what most family photographers, or trampers, might wish to see. No pixel peeping, just how does it go? Well done. I'm definitely thinking of getting its successor, the TG6, for the Milford Track in NZ, a motor caravan holiday after, and then the Waikaremoana track finally. .
Bad advice TG6 is not worth it, high contrast and poor focus on everyday shots
Hey Chris you got a great family thank you for sharing both cameras I still like the Nikon but that's my opinion but thank you again man you did a great job and look like a lot of fun
Greetings from Athens Greece, could someone help me choose between a v30 sd card and a v60? Im using an olympus tg5 for 4k video. thank you
Yeah this is a hands-down one of the best camera reviews I've ever seen.
Cheers. You're probably the best camera reviewer out there.
Still abusing the Nikon AW110 (6 years now), the W300 seems a good successor, but it seems the AW110 still wants to go on with me. Great value for the money.
Did you compare both
under water ?
What a beautiful location.
Thank you sir for making this video
Best video so far that I have seen comparing these two cameras (or similar). Congratulations, very good job!
Hello Chris Nichols and hello to Jordan thank you for sharing these great video have a great Thanksgiving and happy holidays
great review, but I needed to know whether their are any accessories for any of them so that I can use it for handling inside the water as well to take my own video/photos
Hi, I got the camera to the beach and sand entered under the controls, how could I clean it?
WoW... He only asked one kid. What a great test. I do agree that plastic is lighter, but who cares. Metal is less breakable. Also, the sensor and the pixels are much larger than ANY Smartphones... He uses the word, "Nice" a bit too much. Why did he forget to mention that the TG-5 is the only tough camera with RAW, it takes filters, and it has an Elec. compass so he doesn't get lost and other interesting things... I bought it for the features and mostly for the RAW,,, And, what about this. You can shoot photos while making a phone call and it will be at least 2-3 times better. Unless you don't make prints larger than 8x10 and... Also if you don't need RAW look at the TG-850 with a 21mm, especially if you are not a WA user but want to have something wider and it is about $100 less than the TG-5 and it has a tilt monitor. I don't think other tough cameras have anything like these features. If Olympus would give the TG-850 RAW I would buy is as the best 2nd or 3rd camera. Also, it is much smaller than the TG-5/6.
15:58 How would one access the Olympus TG-5 RAW files? Also, it would be nice to know what the recording times are for each video mode without having to experiment with each mode on my own.
my family got nikon w300 but we lost in years ago, now im searching for 4k camera.
and hey ill buy the another you
Photos from Nikon is much much better that tg-5 even tg-6, i can eveb use the Nikon as daily driver for any photo shoot. Olympus... not so much...
This was interesting. When you compared the low-light performance of the two cameras I wasn't sure which one really looked better, but I think the Olympus took in a little bit more light. My thoughts are that generally when comparing cameras, sometimes one looks better with one scene and another looks better with another scene. In your low-light comparison you had a light on the building that was shining outwards toward the cameras. I would like to guess that when these two cameras are compared over a wide variety of different types of low-light scenes, maybe we would see different results. I think both cameras are pretty nice.
Do you know of any tutorial video on how to use the different features of the Nikkon W300? I just bought one and feel overwhelmed. Thank you.
does the flash work on video?
2:56 the pool looks pixelated
There are video recorder time range limit on this camera, such as panasonic ft6.. ??
Wait I wanted to use this for youtube
I bring 60 years of professional experience and have used cameras from 5x7 to Minox. Was in Canon for 40 years & currently own 1 Nikon FX and 3 Nikon DX as well as this one. One serious flaw here, is that you have to remove polarized sunglasses, when using the camera horizontally, as the screen will be black, but otherwise it will still take the photo. This polarization in not encountered when shooting vertically. I wish it was the other way around, as it requires wearing my regular glasses in very bright sun and I find it blinding
Thank you very much. Looks awesome. Comparing it to the Panasonic LUMIX
If you are going to continue to upload videos, turn off the auto-focus on the camera you are recording with. Set it to ∞ and you won't have to worry about focus
I just bought one of these, its a cool little camera,,, had to look up how to open the back of it so thanks for helping out...video quality looks tip top
i cant find infis about it anywhere- does it rec in slow motion?
Is your camera still working after one year? Lol
Does somebody use this camera for scuba diving?
Minha camera nega tirar foto quando eu ponho cartao de memoria diz, cartao esta protegido

I really like this camera. I would like to know, shoukd i buy this one or a sony fdr x-3000 action camera for the purpose of travelling and vlogging
Great Video.... I'm a Camera-timer user.( I like to Set the camera on a stand and set the Timer )..Question-> Is the Timer on this Camera easy & quick to use ?. And would you know what time increments it has.. Thanks Mike Z :)
Interesting video :) Please post more! :)
