@tacce1 Sorry to hear that, I´ve just got one and hope to get my own opinion. On the other hand, the worst electronic devices I´ve had are the Sony ones, I got an stereo device and short after I got it the audio cassette recorder just stop working even when I didn´t use it , Then I got a powershot digital camera and the same,.... suddenly the camera chant from still to movie and back to still by itself,,,I wont ever get a Sony crap again..

Well, this camera is one step up from a throw away!! The batteries don't last and if you use it a lot ... the camera breaks! Then, if you get a warranty ... that is even more fun getting it back working. Mine still isn't and going back AGAIN!! Now, you say I have a "lemon." WRONG!! My boss bought four of them and having the same issue with all of them. Give me my sony back!!
@Shampooworld As I have mentioned in the description, it was some kind of error during rendering. And since this camera is a point and shoot it is expected that it is going to have limited options for manual settings.
@TraviHark About the test-video you showed, I thought it was a malfunction with something else than the camera. Because my experience with filming video was actually pretty good. For good-looking video, you don't need the same sharpness as for photographs. And the fps was quite high so it looked smooth. When you pause the television, you can sea the view is really not sharp. But while playing it appears sharp and with detail. What also annoyed me was the impossibility to set your own settings.

Watching this video, I 'd almost believe this is a good camera. And for filming I admit the coolpix s4000 is a smooth and fairly well camera. Right now all I tested was inside, with lights on. It was said this camera is good in that situation. Though my pics were mostly yellow tinted end extremely vague. Not much use of 12 megapixels when they all register the wrong colour. When zooming in you see all kinds of colours that should not be there. My old 3.2 Megapixels camera does a better job!

@PeachJJ Macro Mode is mode used to take pictures of things that are very close to the lens but still in focus, basically just "close up" photography. On this camera you choose it by selecting it on the touch screen when in any mode. You can also click the video/scene button and choose the "close up" option. The icon of this is a flower. Hope this helps.

Сенсор полная лажа. Периодически зависает, не откликается сенсор, ты хоть репку пой, приходится снимать в одном режиме... Лажа полная. Лучше бы кнопочный взял за полцены. Вечером без штатива снимать бесполезно, и даже в сумерки. Пользуюсь год.

Het is echt de beste camera die er bestaat! De basis-mode werkt wat minder. De automatische scene-selector werkt wel echt uitmuntend!

Hij is in wel meer dan 2 kleuren hoor! ik heb rood en je hebt ook nog zilver en volgens mij ook nog 1 andere kleur. Ik vind de touchscreen heerlijk! Haat aan knopjes =p.
