Hello. I would like a bright lens under the Nikon D3300. I am thinking about the sigma 50mm 1.4 dg hsm and the nikon 50mm 1.8g. Which you think will be the better choice. I usually do portraits. I know the sigma is brighter but it has problems with focus and AF. I like the bokeh from the sigma but it's not as sharp in the center as the 50mm 1.8g Nikon. Which lens would you choose as a professional? Thanks

What a nonsense review , you guys care only about sharpness , this lens is made for low light photography and blows the most 50mm lenses out of the water at night , low light , 3 D rendering and colour , it’s not made for daylight

Neither of them is very good if price isn't the top concern. Especially in the out of focus highlights roll off, very harsh. Nikon didn't really make a killer nifty fifty until the 50F1.8S Z mount. For us DSLR shooter, not good news.

My nikkor 50mm1.4g is Superb. It's on my F5 24/7. I've been thinking about Partnerships with the Nikon DF. Unfortunately the DF is out of my price range, and there is nothing in the nikon range of cameras what even comes close to my expectations of what a camera should look like. So I shall continue to shoot film on my F5 nikon....
Goos review and a great lens - but unless I need to shoot low light I'll use the 50mm AFS f1.8 instead...
