I had the 28mm 2.8 AF-D on full frame, it has extremely high CA, distortion and vignetting up until at least f8. It would serve better as a lens for b&w street shots. 35mm f2 is the best afd I've tried.
give us the vintage ..we already have the big heavy crappy stuff .. stubby light stuff ..

I have had the 28mm f/1.8G for a couple of years. I have purchased it based on the Jared Polin's Review... Little did I know how this lens would perform. During my last trip to Berlin, I had 28G mounted on my D750 walking around the city. The lens is extremely comfortable to carry and not to mention having a Battery grip installed to balance it out. I was at the Brandenburg Gate in the evening, the 28G proved its worth then with night photography ...The lights was oozing on the LCD display from this lens... I was also interested in the 28mm f/2.8D... But what changed my attitude about it was having to give uptake the extra 1-⅓ of f/STOP (Night photos) and the choice of Manual/Auto Focus versus having the Manual Focus (ONLY) ... I guess I am a little bias as to why I have opted not to purchase it...  Also, the 28mm f/1.8G falls right in between the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 and the Nikkor 35mm f/1.4 in terms of value...If that means anything... Btw-Good video!
Love the 28 1.8g. Got it with my D810 and have used it from street to portraits

I agree with you again my friend. I have owned both and sold the 2.8 D. Also the Bokeh on the G is more to my preference with the lens wide open.

es un AF tostado, la velocidad de enfoque que tanto nombras te la da el cuerpo independientemente del objetivo, ya que el objetivo no tiene motor de enfoque

I've had a nikkor 50mm f 1.4 G for about 6 or 7 years, I concur. The distortion is really noticable, and if you're shooting 1.4, you're gonna see a lot of chromatic abberation that wide open.

In the video you posted couple of months after this one you call the 24mm D "a wonderful and sharp" lens. So which one is it? It is sharp or not?

I’m a total amateur and I’ve learned from the bottom up actually I got very good with slides because you don’t want to waste money on bad pictures, But you’re going to hate me for this the camera I like the most the only camera I have for digital is a Nikon D 50 I actually have two of them now I don’t need a lot of bells and whistle’s and if I carried one lens It’s a Nikon hated 28 mm f2.8. In my opinion it’s actually a fairly good lens And a happy trade off between a 35 mm and a 50 mm Since it comes in on the d50a 42 mm. I’ll never buy from eBay for photography from bad experiences in the past the best place to buy from is B and H photo. It is the best run most honest company I’ve ever dealt with and they always give me free stuff when I order something like way more than I ordered I bought another B 50 body only but they sent a new charger and a new battery also. Are used to love shooting minix. Blue moon camera in Portland of all places is the best place to get prints where they actually shine light through the film and printed on photo paper
I got my 28mm f3.5 yesterday. Did some quicks shots and this lens is one fcking sharp lens. Got refurbished, like new for 80 bucks.
Can I just say, the fast glass, or fat glass as you call it, is not much use with an fx digital body with a million iso available with no noise but shooting FP4 at 125 ISO on film it is quite useful...
Photographers shoot film. Youtubers shoot digital.

If you're concerned about others pissing their money away unnecessarily, you're setting a terrible example. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with the 24mm focal length for full frame... it's purely a personal choice. I use both a 20mm and 24mm all the time and usually leave the 28mm at home. And there are some people for whom the additional speed of a 50mm f1.4 is a significant help (those shooting live performances, for example), although I'd agree that a f1.8 or f2.0 is fine for almost everyone.
You do need a 1.4 for low light photography. I shoot band playing in club at low light at 1.4 iso 400 shutter 1/200
