I do not have the money to buy it
PLZ MEDAM DONATE ME THIS CAMERA..09612347954..
I like how you say "nee-kon" :)
Please anyone tell me the name of this building at 4:15, I want to know more about it. I am sure it is the most beautiful thing I have ever saw.
this camera can take pictures in white and black?
spanish?
I'm using j5 on my travel videos. Please, take a look ;)
Yeah that lens makes it look pretty ugly. I don't like the little telescoping snout lenses on other small cameras either. :)
Is the Nikon J5 good for making videos
And how practical is it ? for pocket its not good i think :-) but what about on belt ?
good video
How does this compare to a D3300 with 'default' 18-55 VRII lens? Low light conditions-room, video capture. Thank you!
this or the EOS M10??
Thanks. So from this I can see it can't really shoot 60fps and the 4k isn't up to par for normal video shooting. Well that just saved me £100 or more. Thank you for your accurate review.
How do you focus using the display without taken the photo?
What camera was used to shoot this video ?
how about olympus epl6? which one will u choose?
My experience with Nikons has been really BAD Focus mechanism...... End if the day... A sharp focus make a huge difference..... Check out Sony A6000.... It has a brilliant focus...
Shooting pics at day light is not a big deal, real test of the camera is in night / low light. No details on it
Hello Alex, thanks for your really good review and useful infos. I also bought the J 5 Kit ( with the 10-30mm lense) from amazon as a warehouse deal in beginning 2018. I paid only 260 € and condition was as good as new , so an absolutly no brainer. So there was enough money left for additional lenses and an extra akku. A few lenses are still more expensive then the complete J5 kit but offer great value. I also bought the Nikon lense adaptor for the Nikon 1 series. Now i can use also use most of the standard nikon lenses even with AF. regards from Berlin Germany Oliver
I love your review .. aaand your accent <3
Hi, can you do a tutorial on how to transfer videos to mobile phones.. I can't seem to transfer videos from my camera to my phone. Thanks
just a really good review, I like the 'me laidback' beginning to the ' why I like it' pros and cons, it's an authentic, real-world review and Iain MacClements gives everyone the best affordable lens for the street. You are correct it goes where others may be better, but does it very simply. Like every camera, it takes a little time to 'see' and learn but it beats that phone image all day long. The microphone element...everyone has seen the 'clacker' images. scene one take two...that's the sound synchronisation in film making, video and sound are two different levels of expertise, so don't get too Peed off. Nice congrats. You spent a lot on a better camera, different ballpark, good luck, it's a whole new world...potentially, an addiction.
Great review, thank you!
THANK YOU
Thanks for share. Was helpful
Hi! What are other lenses you recommend?
Thank you for advices. I will buy the lens and filter.
Brilliant camera for my street photography, and use my 18.5mm lens. I have had this camera for 3 years now, cracking reliable little camera, and my images are exactly what I am after when shooting on the street.
Finally someone loves this camera, i honestly preordered it, and i bought two, one for me and my wife (and accidentally ordered 4) i sold them when they arrived, but anyways. I have been using this camera for awhile, and took a promise to myself to really beat the crap out of it and take it everywhere. I took it to Masai Mara and Serengeti, and captured beautiful photos. Yes incredible HDR Capabilities in such a small body and sensor. I even did a two year street photography project locally. And im stilled amazed on how this camera picks up details with the right amount of lighting. I own a D800 and D500, (and other cameras that got sold) but this one is a keeper. Living in Saudi made the kit lens a burden, where the lens shutter will always jam due to fine dust and sand...at the end i removed the damn thing and now is working fine (i get a lens error but not too often, and simply a restart would solve it). I honestly love this camera since day one. Now i mostly take it with me to work as QHSE engineer im always in the field and this camera could handle a beating Instagram: Halfraid (mostly wildlife) Halfraidphoto (new for non wildlife)
Manuk focus ring not work, so how you setting the focus?
Thx for the review! It really helped me! But for the lens, the nikkor 18.5mm, is it auto focus? Or manual?
Hi Gr8 little camera love it
We’re the sample photos in the beginning taken with the 18.5 lens?
Excellent info! I’m starting to get interested in nature and bird photography and think this would be a fabulous start to my new hobby
Dude, I just want to say thank you! Like seriously, this was awesome! I've watched a fair number of j5 reviews and most gave basic or underwhelming descriptions of the camera. That or they had a slightly condescending slant in regards to it's capabilities. And I know it's not everyone's cup of tea and it's not really made for serious photo shoots on the surface. However, I was really happy that you pointed out the fact that it does go rather unnoticed in a crowd and that people react more naturally to it. I've been using mine for a little over two years. I've learned so much with this camera and, like you said, feel more confident in my ability to go straight for a full frame camera. I've recently gotten a basic adapter so I can use older Nikon manual focus lenses, which I currently use for my 50mm f1.4 non-ai lens. It's opened up a ton of ideas for my photography. If you get the chance or if it sounds interesting you should try it. I'm using a K&F Concept adapter. Works fantastically! Anyway, thanks again for the review! If you'd like to see what I've done so far using my j5 you can find me on Insta @photosmith87. Take care
Hey, can you or any one tell me if filters will fit on the stock lens even tho they don't screw on?? is it still something that you can get to work??
I find it noisy. When most people consider it as silent I find it's too noisy, I can hear the autofocus and the zoom ring is horrible.
I gave the Nikon one last chance. I let it shoot in RAW. Once it accepted to take picture despite low light I sent the pics in my computer. The result is the same. Nikon 1 J5 is far behind the smartphone. So is the 10-30 mm kit reserved to day use ? I always thought bigger sensor was the big deal. I guess I was wrong. And when I am at home or around at night I don't intend to take a big dslr, to check my battery, to get it out of the bag, to install thé flash, to put my night lens and finally when all the action belongs to the past to take my photo if the camera accepts to do it... Well I use to think Samsung was so bad after I own ZenFone, Honor 7 and Xiaomi, I will not say the same now. Can you explain why Nikon 1 j5 low light pics are useless and really worse than good smartphones ?
I know this will trigger a lot of people, but five years later, *this is still the camera to go for if you want something truly pocket-able with interchangeable lenses*. An EOS M200 offers 24/25 fps in 4k, sure, but that's still not enough to make it really usable (want 50/60 fps for that), and the interface is too dumbed down and menu-centric. I am far from a Nikon fan-boy but I'm keeping my J5 for now. That's not to say this video is pure cringe.
(not) shot on a nikon j5
I bought it for the fast and good af and the ISO ability. Finally I love it. Really fast. Excellent for sport photography and night photography too. It is not heavy. Sound recording is good. The different modes are enjoyable. The bad thing for me is the kit lens : images are a bit soft, there is no infinity focus and the zoom is too limited. And I seriously miss a real focus assist.
cinema cam with MPEG4 AHAHHAHAH sure nikon SURE!
Paying actor
I have the J1 and it's awesome
"4k movies"
20 Mpix on teeny CX sensor... what about difraction? F3.0 is real limit, any shots with F3.0+ would be above difraction limit. It`s mean thah 100% shots on kit`s lens can be thrown to recycle bin BEFORE session. Where is LOGIC ?
So great that it's been discontinued and not replaced. Not been able to buy one in the uk for around the past 18 months.
Need your help, this or the Canon m10?
Photo opinions and snobbery gone worldwide, lol well got me intrigued I do a lot ok hiking could be my answer I had a d300 now a d5300 getting better results now even with a std kit lens compared with my 18-200. I don't intent getting rid of my d5300 but this could be a second body answer , think that puzzles me at the mo. Is J5 is newer but cheaper than a V3 still researching I'll end up with one or the other great video , very useful to those of us that can look outside a box ,
I bought the Camera for birding, it gave me good results. I have an FT1, 70 200 VR2 Lens and Sigma 50 500. with FT1 that is 27X.
Thank You
I like to know ,please wich kind of tripod do you use with the Nikon 15?Thank you
this camera is not suport microphone external....
heh 0.14 see where the quality comes from ,a full frame rigged DSLR,four guys to shoot to make the pic epic while the main rig is single person, alas rejoice a new toy is born, but would still prefer apsc over cinematic, moreover please make some weather sealed cameras plz, would love to buy with that feature
Hows the video sound quality?
what's the music at the beginning?
what about output for mic when you say its great for video. And what about external flash, how do you use it with strobes?? I dont expect a answer so surprise me..
CONS No hot shoe or viewfinder; Aggressive noise reduction, even at base ISO; 4K video is limited to 15fps.
Where did you get that electronic adapter for Nikon 1? :O
I've got the same two cameras as well, I bought the J5 just a toy really... However the 2.7x crop on the J5 makes it a surprisingly good alternative to a teleconverter. 😀
your video is boring and you missed the side-by-side comparison photos of two cameras.
Work the AF with this adapter ring?
Which lens you use with your nikon 1 j5 in this video?
Can I use Nikkor 18-200mm lens with this cam using ft1 adapter???
I got my Nikon 1 J5 now anyway its possible to transfer my video to my Iphone 7 plus because i using my iphone and editing so the video that i shoot in Nikon then transfer to my phone is still the same good quality video or if i transfer its lessen the quality
So true, there isn't much out there showcasing and explaining the Nikon 1 J5. Ever since i bought it years ago I've wished there was a cool tutorial video or photography book that demonstrated its use. I took a one-on-one lesson and can't remember some of the exercises we did since i was still learning photography plus the different camera settings. Whatever more you do with it, i'll watch, for sure! thx!! Love the camera for portability.
I can't update firmware
Hey Jason just subscribed - loved the beginning of your vid - funny no hell......lol Question - seriously is the Nikon 1 J5 worth getting? I shoot DX FX Nikons & want a decent super portable 1080P vid camera. Don't care about 2.7K 4K etc - researching right now - hear the J5 overheats?
I got the Nikon 1 J5 too, out of curiosity started looking around and found your video... made my night haha great content!
The beginning of this video is awesome ..... new sub I'm a fan 😁 ..... looking at all your reviews for the Nikon 1 j5
Hi Jason ....I Also using Nikon 1 J5 It uses a small sensor, Is that a problem for you? Greeting, I Subscribe to you 👈
hahah love the start!!!
Would be nice to see more on this camera. And the D750. I actually have both! Very sly photographer who marries a model!! Nice lady!! Very nice! :)
