You mentioned that you can set the router to stay on a certain cha nel and not jump around so as to stop the signal from dropping off. Does this drop off also effect the wired connection somehow because I'm hard wired to my main desktop that I stream to twitch with and iv noticed my signal is dropped off every few mins like a pattern. I'm thinking maybe my wired is dropping off whenever the signal switches channels causing my stream to drop major frames. And even lose connection then reconnect over and over while streaming. What do u think?

I bought a netgear dual router only to find out you need an actual modem to receive WiFi... not a techy person. If i buy this, is this the actual modem that will give me WiFi?
My Internet Provider advised turning off the Bridge Mode for a better signal but on the Netgear Genie, there is no actual "Bridge Mode" indicated, so how do I do that?
This router is a giant hunk of shit. I bought it, had nothing but issues with it from day 1. Would lose connectivity, wifi, etc. I even upgraded the firmware. That helped, temporarily. I went back to Linksys. As I type this, the Netgear is in my hand and going in the trash tonight. Maybe I can send it to Al Gore? What a turd. (And the router too). Randy McDaniels, TLC.
Dear Wanderer001, great video. Thanks for posting it. Question, please: I've owned an N300 Router for ~4-5 yrs, without any issues. But recently, my router has begun to take a long time (~8-10 minutes or more) before the 'i' (internet) LED lights to the green state. It is off until then. It has not ever behaved this way before. I do have it on a plug strip (power surge protected), along with the modem (for our cable ISP), and do turn them both off via the on/off switch on said plug strip. Previous to this time, the router would always take about 30-60 seconds to initialize and turn all LEDs green (Power, 'i'[internet], and 'Channel Number'). Any and all suggestions welcomed. I have a dlink router from ISP but since its old I decided to buy a new upgraded version on the new routers in the market R6260. I connected and setup the router but it was done while the dlink was still connected with Ethernet cable. I use 2 routers now. Internet connected to my Dlink(DIR-600M) router and then Dlink router connected to Netgear Router via LAN port on Dlink to Ethernet/Internet port on Netgear router using ethernet cable. I was to remove the middleman, and user internet directly from Netgear R6260. How can i do that? Whenever i plug the internet cable in Netgear router the "globe" icon does not switches on evern after half hour. How to setup the router directly with internet?

Please do Not buy anything from Netgear.. I repeat DO NOT BUY ... I have battling with them to change a cable modem for over 2 weeks a CM1150V cable modem. I paid $119 for a year plan for customer support.. Then they had me pay $29.90 twice in order to have the modem shipped .. I was told that I was going to get a refund .. I have never received those refund yet... I received an email saying action required by customer when you call customer support .. They always make the same excuse. Either they will call you back within the next hour , 4, or 24 ..They never follow up. The system asked me to pay again.. I have never received my refunds from my two previous payments.. I don't recommend anyone to buy anything from them. Please stay away from Netgear. Well, my old one died and imgs.love/NCableModem?ab I stuck with the one I knew. Was surprised to learn it supports voice, which might come in handy eventually.

Netgear community is garbage I factory reset my router and can't access it anymore because it says "connected no internet" I'm connected with lan and I can't use any of the shitty genie apps to set it up because they can't connect to it even though I can ping my router it's basically a brick because in order to set it up I need internet from the router and in order to get internet I need to set it up
