The Tongue pan.I started listening to the spiritual tones and experimenting more. Playing less than with a hammer.I've been able to produce a sound like a melodic harp. It's caused by very lightly, backwardly dragging the drum sticks very gently backwards over the tongues. Somewhat like making notes through a wet finger on a wine glass but creating a magic harpish sound. I think it's beautiful anyway. To add to the effect I cut small notches into each rubber ball to enhance the harmonic effect.Try standing up to play around the instrument. A string of sounds can be reached. I use a tall narrow water drum.Hope this adds to the fun.

Was very excited to see you offered steel drum information. I have a 11 tongue drum that came with unattached stick on numbers but no instructions as to placement. It is out of tune with couple of the tongues resonating the same note. Appreciated your magnet tuning video. My question concerns the order of note placement. I was trying to copy your placement on your 18 inch drum, but you have more tongues than my drum. Hard to tell how the numbers correspond with the notes or their placement. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.

Sound changes according to what the drum is on. if drum can vibrate carefree, it sounds betterThe legs hinder the vibration. therefore it sounds too deep and muffled
I purchased the large drum and it came with no numbers at all. Im a beginner and have no idea where to get the stickers and place them. Any ideas? It was a Christmas gift so its too late to return it.
