Great review thanks! Your comments about viability of a 4K (or more realistically an FHD) workflow for video editing or photo retouching etc make this a rare but very useful option. I think MSi have cottoned on earlier than competitors to the fact that business users are increasingly needing creative tools e.g. for social media posting so do need the CPU & GPU performance but arent looking for a lurid gaming slab or a 15 or 17 workstation that wont impress your fellow passengers on a plane or train

Hmm i have one and cant even run geometry dash above 20fps,maybe something is wrong i also have the nvidia drivers and stuff.
The build quality on the released version is much better than what is shown here. In terms of heat, it only gets really hot under extremely high loads (while gaming for example). I use external peripherals, so I never notice this; though I do feel it is at a bearable enough temperature where one can type/use WASD comfortably. The touchpad is also fine, nothing I can find to complain about.

Glad I'm not the only one that wishes they had full size SD card readers.I have a 4k 15.6" laptop at work and it's a waste of power and graphics power (GTX1050) I wish they'd preference 1440p.I'm kinda struggling to find an ultrabook I like. 16gb RAM is a minimum for me, so many SKU's still only come with 8....
Hi there @TheTechChap I have been looking for a decent laptop for a couple weeks now, I started with the Lenovo Thinkpad P1s which said would deliver by May 20th so that was no good for me. Then I went for the XPS 15 9500 but I simply could not get myself to over look the massive amount of issues everyone has been having with the trackpad, Then I saw this laptop on bestbuys website for $899 USD originally $1200 USD it seemed like a shot in the dark but I was wondering if you think I got a good laptop for a good deal.
