I have one of these phones purchased from Walmart for StraightTalk. This is the WORST phone I have ever owned. It takes the phone anywhere from 2 to 5 seconds for the screen to turn on after touching the fingerprint reader (unlike what is seen in the review . I have also had a couple instances where the display brightness goes down to where it is almost unreadable. It happened in bright light with both adaptive brightness on and off. Luckily, I could hold it just right in the light to see the screen good enough to go into settings and turn the brightness back up. Lastly, and worse of all, there are select callers that call and I can hear them but they cannot hear me. It is repeatable with those callers and I recently verified the issue is in the phone by swapping SIM cards with my wife's phone. My wife's 3+ year old Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky which is dated is a much better, reliable phone than this one. I will never ever ever purchase another Motorola phone. Kevin, For consistency, it would be great if you ran the Geekbench against each phone reviewed though not sure if that is a true reflection of the phone performance given the Moto E numbers aren't bad for a basic phone but basic functionality is poor and not reflective of what is seen in this particular review based on my personal one year experience with this phone.
This phone sucks.. changes settings at will.. including ring volume, brightness setting so i can't see screen & shuts off willy nilly. Just can't live with that! Don't buy it.
Could someone please help! It may sound dumb but, how do I use backspace while dialing a phone number on the keypad? I have an e5 and I'm trying to give Verizon my new card number... "Press 2 now to enter your new number.. " I press 2. "now enter the number... " but "2" is still on screen, I need to get rid of it before entering my card number. The user manual doesn't cover this... anyone?

when I press up or down right side volume keys, two bar menus pop up. One is for volume and the other has a person icon. What's the person icon for? When I increase it or decrease, nothing happens. The icon looks like the accessibility person icon.

I got this, and it's really good! I am having 1 problem with videos, the back gound light keeps getting darker, then lighter. It can't seem to figure out what it wants to do. Is there something I can do to correct this?

What does “Avoid bad WiFi connection” do in the phone WiFi settings? When I turn them on, I noticed it keeps switching between WiFi connection and cellular network which is annoying to me when I’m at home.

I still have this phone, i don't love it but i don't hate it. i only use it for outlook, slack, dope wars, and google voice. this phone has also saved some gigs for DJ's where they have an iphone and downloaded a song but can't connect it to their mixerboard because of a missing dongle. i've downloaded the song they need and they plug in the 1/8 connection. i should start charging them for that.

I bought this phone 6months ago had a s7 and it just got old hot and slow, prob a ruined bat but it wouldnt even survive a day with min usage. people got mad that my phone died and I was literally charging it twice a day. great battery life I can now survive without a phone heating up and dying within a day and panic. I could live if i got lost in the woods. apps are not zippy so if you heavly rely on phone for work look for other options. camera and games dont care about. it's not bloated. great gestures choplight and back fingerprint are addictive. no usb c which can suck long term but i'll live. great phone for minimalists or a quick phone that will last a few years and hand it down to a parent or sibling. it's really not bad at all. I personally love it much better than paying $700 for something that dies in a heartbeat overheats and bloated with trash software. for a minimalist that barely uses their phone this thing is awesome needed a quick phone $130 unlocked with plans you can find for $40-50 6months to $80-100 for a year is a killer deal.
i dropped mines least 15 times in the two years that ive been using it daily and its still goin strong. battery life is still great too. it does every thing i need and never had problems yet so far with it
This phone is a huge upgrade from my current phone, so...it'll most likely fit my needs even if it's not up to date.
I've had one for a couple of years. It has worked very well. I use it for everything and have never had a problem.
As a owner I can tell you it's a okay phone if you want it as a everyday phone. The cons of the phone are it's storage and slow load time. Half the storage will be filled with system data and updates so don't expect much space at all. It's slow load time becomes apparent once you fill the storage up which is accomplished pretty fast. The greatest thing about this phone is you could get this for only $39.99 at certain stores.

Motorola has been the best phone I've ever owned.......and affordable ! ! ! Paired with Mint Mobile phone plan .....GOLDEN ! ( I'm not being compensated for this comment......just saying what works well for me) Never understood why some pay thousands of $$ for a phone !!! It is what it is .....make a freakin call / text/ email / DUH !

Well worth it, and I just bought a second one as a backup. What I really do with my phone is listen to podcasts and audiobooks. If you do that, yes, this is the best phone ever. Motorola lets you map the volume up and and volume down long press to audio skip forward and skip back. Skipping ads! MUST HAVE! My trick is 60 seconds forward and 30 seconds back. Working in apps Pocket Cast and Simple Audiobook Player. All of the chargers in my house and car are microUSB so no coslty upgrades. The single speaker is good enough. The dirt simple Android 10 is great and I still have been seeing security updates so far. Thanks Kevin, please be sure to include the KILLER features on these phones, such as the ad skip and the chop chop flashlight!

I have this phone and honestly it's a piece of 💩 I've had it for maybe 6 months and it freezes up, doesn't want to answer nor make phone calls it's just not wroth the money honestly. Next time I'll spend 2 or 300 on a decent phone. Never will buy this phone ever again! Hell I wouldn't take a new one if it was given away for free 🤷

This phone sucks my old school 50 dollar phone performed better than this why would you make a phone like this this. It's not worth it. It keeps freezing it's slow and the way they made the back button and the home button it's just so stupid. I'm about to give this phone away and get another one. I bought this phone in June of 2021, but ive just now realised that the top bezil is larger than the side. My OCD is slowly killing me every time i pull it out now.

I bought a Moto E4 (my first smart phone) in June 2018 for $49 on sale in Walmart. When I purchased it, a couple of people said I'd definitely want to upgrade after a year, but it has everything I need and has worked great for 3-1/2 years. I guess it really depends on one's personal use, but I use talk, text, email and watch videos occasionally. I like the Google Assistant, use Google maps frequently and find the flashlight to be very convenient. I only have 16GB of storage and am using over 11GB, so I would consider buying a newer Moto phone with more storage. Thanks for the video.
