Update, I've had this phone for over 5 years and eventhough the phone itself is in perfect physical condition, the systems are no longer supported by the company so it's glitching since it can't update and be compatible with all the other apps out there. Bothers me because it looses phone connection because of this so I can't even make calls sometimes, looks like the company itself has abandoned it and won't make their current basic phone usage systems compatible. I want a new phone but not willing to spend a penny over 200$ cnd including taxes, because I don't find any of these fancy features they're marketing worth while, they only seem a little better than my current one so I find their prices ridiculous.

Here is a list:-1. Frequent rooting while idle.2. Microphone issue and poor call quality ( you already said it is all right).3 Heating while browsing the web .4 Taking upto 5 hours to get completely charged !!!!please reply and advise.
In 2020 it still makes a decent 2nd phone. Love its compactness. I have a couple of these in my collection.
Bought one recently to see what a decent budget smartphone is like (I use feature phones and old Blackberry devices). Not concerned about the camera (I don't take photos). Surprised the iconic original "Hello Moto" isn't one of the available ringtones. I had to download it. I like the compact size since I don't watch video on phones. Not a bad budget smartphone, even in 2019 if your needs are basic.

I bought this phone last week after my Samsung S3 just refused to boot up. I'm saving up for the Sony Z5 Compact, but this phone is serving me well.All I need it for is the basics (calling, messaging, checking emails), but I'm also very active on Twitter, listen to music on Spotify to & from work, browse web based apps (BBC News/Sport). Not once has any of the apps shut down on me and the battery longevity is impressive for a phone that cost me 60. Plus I'm not a big fan of the 5" smartphones, so the size is perfect.Okay the camera is basic, but it does a good job when you have good lighting.Just if you are wanting to play games, make sure all the other apps are closed as this will suffer in the performance.Other than that, it's a brilliant budget phone!

The first Moto G is actually 4.5" not 4.7" as the reviewer says here.
Just set up my Moto E 2 and it does not ring. All phone calls go directly to voice mail. So, I did a reset, pulled the sim card and replaced, shut down and restarted and still no luck. Any thoughts on why I can't receive calls?
How do I disable Google Contact Syncing on this phone? I've tried going through everything and can't event delete the contacts from the phone.
Speaking as an "Elderly relative" who has just purchased their first Android phone (because there wasn't a 5mp camera option without Android), this looks like a poor recommendation to me. The first/primary/main hurdle, is a charger. There isn't one! It seems that Motorola 'assumes' new owners have already bought a wall charger, or are happy to spend all night with their laptop switched on, to charge their Moto E 2nd Gen phone? Not me. I don't have a Motorola/Moto branded charger at all, and even if I owned a "compatible" charger, I'd be reluctant to connect a brand new phone to something that could cook my purchase on its first day. Consequently, the phone will be returned without it ever having been switched on. Nowhere in ANY review I've seen or read to date, is there a mention that a purchase will also require extra expense on a wall or car charger. Not that a car charger is much use if you don't use one much like me.... Young people (under 17) probably don't have much use for a car charger either.... When you buy this phone, be prepared to spend another 8 on a Motorola SPN5516A mains charger.

Best budget phone ever. Love the review bought one for a wife few days ago and there is no issue it's smooth no lags and Motorola is better than Samsung in terms of performance!

My friend gave me his old Motorola e when he got a new phone. It is much nicer than the HTC my touch I have bee using for the last five years. This video was helpful as I have no clue how to get to most of the features

You speak toooo fast. I can hardly understand, least I pause the video every few seconds to concentrate on each phrase. Otherwise great video!
Sad part is the default implementation of Google Now shown here is faster and more responsive than the Motorola MotoVoice implementation even on flagships by orders of magnitude.
I'm currently writing using this phone. You get a good bang for your buck, assuming you pay $40 or under. But it's effective life is like half a year. Unfortunately, I've had this phone for 2 years now, and at this point it's complete shit, and it is like torture to use
