I would have replaced them with same type of gears. Whether or not plastic or nylon. I think those gears where made to wear to prevent more damage to the rest of the motor.
I drilled a small hole in the case of mine over the gears so I could use a straw and spray some full synthetic motorcycle chain lube in and cover the hole with a plastic pop rivet. I shoot some oil in every couple hundred miles. Grease moves away from the gears at high speed .
Why don’t they make Ebikes with all mental gears? Money greed? Will last too long me thinks. Weight is the obvious one but I’d rather have something that will last twice as long instead of one -5 years.

Hi, I have what I think is the same motor, although it is making a clacking sound as it spins. I have opened it up and cant see anything obvious, it turns freely for a bit then it meets resistance, the gears have a few small nicks in a few of the teeth but nothing significant, not sure if that's all it takes to cause the noise!??!?. I don't suppose you might know what the clacking noise is?? I don't seem to have that protruding part on the shaft like yours that's used to line up the planetary gears when you slide it on or a clip that goes on after.

I heard you only need one metal gear and you can keep the other two nylon gears. This would prevent a lot of the noises you will get with three metal gears.
