Hey Chaps! Looking at current pricing:
👉 Surface Pro X 256GB LTE w/ Keyboard + Pen - $1517
👉 iPad Pro 12.9" 256GB LTE w/ Keyboard + Pen: $1627
So Surface is actually cheaper than equivalent iPad - sorry for any confusion in my video! Much love x
Really thanks for pointing out the IPAD RRO. I find Surface products also to be seductively attractive. However I run a SPRINT AQT 100 that I just performed a factory reset on. Amazing to me the AQT now runs much like I would expect an IPAD to operate. So why four years ago did I receive the device with a crippling setup. The AQT 100 has I beautiful display and now that it runs as expected I am extremely happy with it.
i am watching this video on my surface pro x!!
I think I may be purchasing this as long as Microsoft apps work then that's all good for me for me to upgrade from the 2018 surface go, great review 👍
Hello ,I want to ask that does the surface pro X works smoothly when using touchscreen as a tablet like a high end premium tablet or does it often lags?
Can the Ipad do full function Excel? Pivot tables etc...
I picked up a Surface Pro 7 for work the other day, but haven't gotten it out of the box yet, partly because I had been contemplating taking it back for the Surface Pro X, just because I think the Surface lineup looks a little dated outside of the new Surface X. But, with the details you had been mentioning like not all apps being compatible or needing an emulator. For me, I was going to primarily use it for work, which means web browsing and Microsoft Apps mostly, but down the road, I don't know, I need a device that is more future proof. Great video as always, and you just solidified my first choice in buying the Surface Pro 7. Thanks.
Both the laptops are amazing but surface pro x is the best according to my opinion
I really dont recommend having a surface pro X since
1. slow pc
2.have terrible battery (usually 2-3 hours battery would die)
3. way to expensive (1k) you can literally get a a gaming pc thats 800 dollers
now this was my experience using a surface pro X, Im not saying you should buy it im just saying i dont recommend it
I so want to break out of Apples ECO system.... But the options on the PC side honestly are just poor in the tablet world. This machine is expensive and with no app support.
1200 lbs thats heavy
does corel draw work?
So what you are saying is that the pro x is great for school work?
Surface proX or samsung galaxy book ion 2 ??....
If I'm paying that money for a Windows based system, it has to be the full monty. If I want such limitations I'd buy a tablet running just apps.
love it
I will not buy surface pro x
If it wasn't for the fact that I require x64 apps, that actually runs quite decently, I'd probably at least try out the Surface Pro X, but the price... ehhh.. yeah... again, if all the software I used at work and home was compiled to ARM, it'd probably be worth it.
The speed is supposedly quite decent if you compare it with the same software, just compiled for ARM, as opposed to running an x86 benchmark on it.
Microsoft is such a disappointment recent years.
I don't get why some native windows apps do not run on surface pro x. It's running windows 10 home just like any other surface product? Does the CPU architecture really matter when the OS is same? Apps are written for OS and not CPU I suppose. Obviously I'm missing something here. Someone please educate.
Not stoked about the departure to arm. That's a deal breaker
Unchecking the 'smoothing' will help with the brush lag in Photoshop
Hey Lisa, love your shirt....
can you recieve call and text since this is a 4g capable device?
I was so close to by it.. but the ARM thingy stopped me.. thanks for the info
did you review thw surface pro 7 at some point? Using a surface pro 5 and need to buy a new notebook in next 2 weeks... or should I go with the HP dragonfly or Dell xps13?
Hi Lisa, will you be doing a performance review on the new Surface Pro X with SQ2? Curious to see how it'll perform with apps like Photoshop, since we know the SQ1 was underwhelming. Thank you!
You know what Lisa really thought on this when the review video only lasted 10 mins....
Hi all
Does anyone tried installing and using filemaker pro esp. Filemaker 16 pro advanced 32bit on surface pro x? If so, how was the performance? Wss it sluggish or buggy?
2:34
"comes in black, black or black"
you make an intriguing proposition
If you wanted to buy this for its built in 4G LTE option and discovered about the ARM CPU compatibility issues and laggy performance, you can get yourself a surface book 2 or 3 and a small usb LTE modem.
Run every single program or game without having a single compatibility issue for the same price . An 4G LTE usb modem might not look as beautiful as built in option but how often do you need to use a modem anyway ?
I love your review anyway. Thank you.
Love the shirt!
Oh my! i like that shirt too!!
How would this run WSL or WSL2? Or better yet can it run WSL or WSL2?
Ugh... I wanna get it but don't mostly because of bad reviews and high price range... I just wanna do webcomics.. the pro X looks really nice but it lacks with ARM 🙄. Might just get the pro 6/7..
I feel compelled to add a warning for anyone considering purchasing this notebook. The ARM64 is a serious limitation and we have been personally burnt by the fact many 3rd party peripheral manufacturers do not support the ARM64 chipset with ARM64 specific device drivers. When we questioned some of them they stated they had no intention of supporting this chipset and it was up to Microsoft to provide drivers. When we questioned Microsoft they stated we needed to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro but would not guarantee that would solve our peripheral issues.
The Surface Pro X is sounding like a $1000+ Version of Surface RT on steroids!
Please take a breath between sentences... it's hard to understand 5 sentences with no break. Really needed some info, couldn't make it through the whole video.
Is that a kakashi their you have on. Complete with the kunai in his hand
There's always something new to like about you
Hey Chaps! With SO many great laptops to choose from... which are you tempted to buy next? (Dell XPS, Macbook Pro 16, Surface Laptop?) 🤔
The whole double conversantly appreciate because gemini contextually cure above a bent hydrogen. messy, quaint squirrel
Do not buy this Laptop, after using it for 1 year and 3 months it won't turn on, and the response for Microsoft, is to pay more than 300 usd to get it repaired. Mine is a I7 13 inches, 16 gb RAM.
I wonder I can play Minecraft on this
Known audio/video sync issues in the amd version. Microsoft is not working to fix them, do not buy the amd version of this laptop.
the glare on this thing is so bad it should be sold as a mirror
3:45 nice
I have been using the Matte black SF3 for the past two weeks, and for a PC, I really like it. I use an MBA M1 as my personal device, and between the two I use the SF3 because I use it for work. Before buying the SF3, I was using the SP3 but was not finding the tablet and the fact it had a smaller screen as a true work device for me. I am on the go a lot, and not always able to use an external monitor, so having the bigger 13-inch screen more useful.
As I mentioned, I did have the SP7 and switched to the SL3. What made me switch, as I did not like the tablet design of the SP7, I like the bigger screen on the SL3, I also prefer the clamshell laptop design, and lastly, BestBuy was having a sale and the SL3 was the same price as the SP7 and its Matte Black.
I use the SL3 much like a Chromebook. I had used a Chromebook before, but because it did not have a dedicated App store or full-featured Microsoft Apps I went back to the PC.
Chrome on a PC or any desktop is awesome because of the extensions, the ability to make web apps out of virtually any website, and I am able to complete most of my work through the browser, which allows me to not load up the laptop and make the fans kick on. However, the fans, as you had mentioned, are not loud and annoying.
Like you also pointed out, this is not a gaming device but you can get away with some gaming. How I get around that is using the Xbox App and stream my games from my connected Xbox at home.
Who I would recommend this device for, is someone who is always on the go, because this is an Ultrabook. I would also recommend this device to students of the course and business professionals like myself. The device is great for multitasking and the build quality rivals the Macbook LIne from Apple.
With the base spec, how's the camera?
Recently, I have purchased the SL3 8gb, i5, 256, and I really love it. The laptop is light and thin, perfect for classes. The instant-on is a good plus, and it feels premium. My only complaint is the battery life, but it doesn't really affect the experience, as after a 6-7 hour class with mixed usage, it ends up with around 40-60%. Would highly recommend it.
Is it better than the razer book 13?
Can you detach the screen from the keyboard on this laptop to use it as a tablet?
Very to the point, thanks so much
When the laptop is closed. Does the top come out a bit in the front?
What I liked about the Laptop 3, was the build quality. The typing experience on the device was excellent, the responsiveness of switching between open apps was slightly quicker than that of the Surface Pro 6. However, when it comes to the instant-on, for me instant on; was just a feature that offered a quicker way for the screen to pop on, but when it came to instant on and being able to start your work right away there would be a slight lag especially when it came to data entering.
In comparison to the instant-on feature on the MBA M1 2020, the moment you log in with your fingerprint the device is ready for you to start your work. Also in comparing the build quality, both devices are built really well but when it comes to the screen there is absolutely no screen flickering when it comes to MBA as compared to some Surface Laptop 3 models. Now to correct the screen flickering on the SFL 3; you will need to make sure the Intel GPU app is installed on your device and currently active.
In conclusion, however, the experience using both devices. The moment you use macOS and you switch to using Windows, you do notice a performance difference in responsiveness in animations, switching between apps, and the screen panels, there is more clarity and sharpness on the MBA in comparison to the SFL 3.
all reviews should look like this :) It allowed to see everything I wanted. Thanks guys
that was super helpful, thank you!
My mac crashed i need to replace it any suggestions
I don't know which is more beautiful :the product or the reviewer .Just gorgeous !
And now, the tables have turned, the new m1 macbook air demolishes the laptop 3 in raw power.
Hello does the surface pro x while using it as a tablet touchscreen does it run smooth like a high end premium tab
Great video
Wait they should be bought separately???
does meta trader4 works on tis arm thing????????
Good Review on sharing many open different angle views.
...
My own experiences using 2 weeks Surface Pro X, and MS Surface Pro 7 core I 5
Before having MS Surface Pro X , I bought SF pro 7, it is working well and fast. After 2-3 weeks, I had to buy another one computer, I had to give SF pro 7 to my wife to work continue 1 week for urgent adhoc many reports requested by customer.
Then I have to buy another surface for my parallel works on presenting, office and web browsing, traveling several places.
when I saw SF Pro X firstly open in Microsoft Big Event and later in the MS shop seller, I was very impressed on very nice improved design and functions of MS Surface Pro X.
Design look the best among the nowadays tablet, and smart ultra traveling notebook .
13” screen is good for views.
Quality of screen and sound and video were much improved than older pro version.
So, I have gone through studying a lot from Surface Pro X reviews, both on their MS own website and third opinions.
Most of reviewers, youtubers focused only performance and limitation on new ARM processor, those said many problems on negative about Surface pro X.
So I think, I should try and explore more details by myself on this Product, because...
I don't want to have 2 surface similar. I wanna try different.
And I believe inner inside that,
"MS team must have some good reasons to launch something new by new chipset with this ARM".
There should be reason good enough to go for ARM with this product. I like thing about starting of AI feature on this SQ1 chip.
“After hearing other, better to try with your own experiences.” ...
Then have to do my own test,
I went to the seller Shop to do the test.
I bring my SSD HD data containing many of files, that i regularly use to do my own real test at Surface Pro X seller shop spending almost 1-2 hours for all tests.
I am the one who usually do the works on MS office.
I do reports with MS word, one file size could be more than 100 MB.
At the same time I would do multiple tasks, opening Excel sheet picking up several data financial and analysis technical data several sheet calculating.
Moreover , I am doing at the same time opening 10-15 pages pdf file parallel with doing slide presentation with power point that containing tons of high definition of pictures and videos.
While doing all above I am opening many windows of web browsers,
doing search internet data.
One can be email on gmail, one is opening youtube music for relaxing,
anothor one could be working on email,
another one monitoring stock and gold price, ready to buy and sell.
While I am testing, I open my presentation slide made of MS power point, that is quite big size of 400 MB. With lot of HD pic and Video embed on it to test the severe case.
All of working windows, I open through my SSD HD connected via USB C port because Testing SF Pro x at the shop is demo machine.
All that programs and open windows as mentions above on test are working very well.
While doing all many tasks on Pro X as all above I mentioned, opening 100 MB with MS word doing report, opening youtube 4 K, opening several files (excel, pdf documents, edge browsers surfing more than 10 pages web browsing ) to copy data to creating report, and also at the same time doing that quite big size 400 MB slide presentation.
Result is that, MS Surface pro X is working smooth without any problem, working fast, honestly to say that it is slower a bit comparing to surface pro 7 core i5 256 RAM, as I said, the one I gave to my wife for working on writing reporting .
(I would say that Microsoft Pro X, at the shop, is the one that skilled seller just update lasted programs, software and firmware, I guess many things and problems were fixed.)
Web browsing and Movie on Youtube are working very well with impressive quality.
See clear on big screen,
Nice details with full High Definition,
Resolution is almost 4 K movies with fine and smooth through my eyes.
.
The sound and movie are showing on Surface Pro X are very IMPRESSIVE.
The sound is not as good as iPad Pro , but it is really good enough to enjoy the entertainment.
The outlook of SF Pro X design is very impressive, pretty much beautiful.
The handling, carrying Surface Pro x is very suited for traveling people like me, while I am going out to give lecture and consulting to students and customers.
Due to the working style and my age, I don't mind much about gaming performance, because I do not have much time left for games.
I used to be a game lover when I was young, but after coming to some old age, I gradually fade off it.
Photos and Videos I usually take and work simply by iphone and ipad.
So Adobe Photoshop and A Illustrator or A Premiere were never used on this Surface.
But heard that in a few months, Adobe team is working on to develop those photo apps to be compatible on ARM.
MS Edge and Edge Canery developed for ARM is working very smooth and fast.
So that is enough support for me to choose this computer, MS SF PRO X.
So, I made decision to buy Surface PRO X.
New MS PEN is used for many comfort functions.
It is really work for noting, drawing very good ergonomic and smooth use.
After buying,
This MS Surface Pro X had been tested, opening files, working all day and night.
Even I take rest sleeping, but computer had to be opened , because continuing work on many data files.
This SF had to keep running open to finish more than 3 reports, the Due Diligence reports for customer in 2 weeks. Each report size is more than 60-90 MB and has more than 100 pages.
So the long time test had proven its reliability and stability.
I would say this Surface Pro X is very best suited for me.
Nice Design, very lightweight, look smart when presenting work to customerss,
Good for web surfing and browsing data, watching movies in Youtube.
...
People use different computers for their different purposes and experiences,
select the one that fit to you.
I do like one the Pro X machine.
When it is working such a long time, it is notices that this machine is not as heat as SF pro 7 ,
I think because of lower power (watt) used in ARM processor.
All above mentioned, I do love this MS Surface Pro X.
Its designs, functions, and features are very fascinating one.
I was going to buy the Samsung book s over this. But the Samsung book s screen is a no go!
Interesting they didn't send the one with the pen silo.
Love it. I've had mine for over a month. As stated, no Intel 64-bit apps but as I'm a web developer, no BIG loss. Most of my work stack is ARM64 already. Pounding the battery I can get 10-11 hours on it. A little less if you throw in 32-bit emulation.
I recommend it as long as your needed apps can run.
Great video! I really wanted to get your thoughts on the Motorola One Zoom, or Motorola One Action.
